We find in this passage the leper coming before Jesus and beseeching Him.
Beseech means to exhort, to beg.
After hearing about all the miracles that Jesus had done, he came begging Jesus on his knees and said, “If you will, you can make me clean.”
In this context, we find the leper affirming God’s ability to heal. We can assume here that the Leper heard about the healing of sicknesses, diseases, and casting out devils, so the Leper must’ve known 100% that Jesus can heal his leprosy.
After Jesus hears the affirmation, He moves with compassion.
Jesus is moved with compassion because not only did the leper recognize His Ability, but the leper also recognized Jesus’ willingness to heal people.
When you move Jesus, you get His attention.
After being moved with compassion, Jesus puts forth his hand, touches Him, and says, “I will; be thou clean.” And immeditely, the leper is healed.
In Mark 6:1-6, Jesus was rejected at Nazareth. After he had raised Jarius’ daughter from the dead, he returned to the city in which he was born. He stayed until the sabbath day to teach at the local synagogue, and the Nazarenes recognized who he was, but were astonished at His teachings. Some asked, “Where did he get these teachings?”, “What kind of wisdom was given unto him?”, “Wasn’t this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? And they were offended at him, the Bible says.
Jesus replied, “A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.”
Jesus was marvelled because of their unbelief, and their unfaithfulness. The result was...He could do no mighty work. He was able to lay hands on a few people...but he couldn’t show people the mighty work of God
