Colossians Chapter 2

VERSE 1: Paul here reveals a very interesting fact about his ministry and shows us how we should care for Christ’s Church! We are one Body!

1. Paul wanted the Church at Colosse and Laodicea to know that all of his personal struggles and labor of love was NOT LIMITED to those he personally knew; it extended to all who had not meet him personally!

2. This is a clear indication that Paul had not started this or any other churches in the Lycus Valley.

3. The fact that Paul mentioned the Church at Laodicea indicates that the Gnostic and Judaizing HERESIES had spread there too.

VERSE 2: Paul continues to explain that his love for them was meant to encourage their hearts (Spiritual Love One For Another)

Paul tells them that they are knitted together in Love! REMEMBER GOD IS LOVE!

1 John 4:8 NASB95

The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Paul is enlightening them to this truth: That when they understood that Christ is God’s Mystery they obtained all the wealth and the full assurance of understanding.

VERSE 3: BECAUSE IN CHRIST ALL TREASURES OF WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE ARE HIDDEN IN HIM!

VERSE 4: Paul is saying to them that CHRIST is ALL you need! Don’t let anyone DELUDE you with a persuasive argument (convincing speech)

*TRUTH & PERSUASION DO NOT ALWAYS CORRELATE!

VERSE 5: Paul once again lets them know that even though he is not with them physically, he is with them spiritually.

Rejoicing in the fact that he knows that they are disciplined and stable in their faith in CHRIST!!

VERSE 5: THEREFORE (ALWAYS ASK WHY IS IT THERE FOR?)

It is confirming something right before! Since you are disciplined and stable in your Faith in Christ..........

NOW “WALK IN HIM”!

This is a verb (action word)>>> this implies that now you must take action to walk with Him........
