Falling From Paradise!

When I got married there were a lot of things I have learned from my wife and about my wife. One of them is she loves to garden. The yard of of our house before we moved in was not much. It was a rent house and there were no flowers. But Heather has changed that. She bought the right plants, she made me and the boys did a lot of wholes, she got the right soil, and then she planted and cared for these flowers.
However I am not a great gardener. I learned that the hard way when I did not water my plants for a week when Heather was gone and we lost our plants.
However now when I am held responsible to water the plants I do it because I don’t want to lose the plants and pay for new ones. But I am still not a good gardener.
The way I garden our yard is sometimes the way I garden my life. My wife however is really good at gardening.
I don’t want to live my life how I garden. I want to live my life for the glory and honor of God.
How do you garden your life?
Today we are going to be in the garden of Eden. And Adam and Eve gardened their lives like I garden my yard. But God created us to live our life in a fallen world.
I don’t want my life to look like my garden looks like when I am in charge.

How do we live for God in a fallen world?

If we are going to live for God in a fallen world we must:

3. Know his word (3:1-9).

We need the word of God, but just because we have the word of God does not mean that we will utilize the word of God. My kids will get hungry all the time and they will come up to me and say dad I am starving. And I will say back to them, you know that very hunger you have, that makes you want to eat. When we are spiritually hungry we should hunger after God and read his word.
There are some places that do not have a copy of Gods word. We don’t have just to the word of God, we have numerous copies of different translation of the word of God
