17 복음에는 하나님의 의가 나타나서 믿음으로 믿음에 이르게 하나니 기록된 바 오직 의인은 믿음으로 말미암아 살리라 함과 같으니라
“Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6 (NIV)
6 믿음이 없이는 하나님을 기쁘시게 하지 못하나니 하나님께 나아가는 자는 반드시 그가 계신 것과 또한 그가 자기를 찾는 자들에게 상 주시는 이심을 믿어야 할지니라

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE SEE WITH EYES OF FEAR?
(Number 13-14 - Spying out the Promised Land)
1. We EXAGGERATE OUR DIFFICULTIES.
“It’s a magnificent land BUT the people living there are powerful, and their cities are fortified and large! What’s more, we saw Anakim giants there!” Numbers 13:27b-28
27 모세에게 말하여 이르되 당신이 우리를 보낸 땅에 간즉 과연 그 땅에 젖과 꿀이 흐르는데 이것은 그 땅의 과일이니이다
28 그러나 그 땅 거주민은 강하고 성읍은 견고하고 심히 클 뿐 아니라 거기서 아낙 자손을 보았으며
“...other spies said, ‘They’d crush us!’ So the majority report of the spies was negative.” Numbers 13:31-32
31 그와 함께 올라갔던 사람들은 이르되 우리는 능히 올라가서 그 백성을 치지 못하리라 그들은 우리보다 강하니라 하고
32 이스라엘 자손 앞에서 그 정탐한 땅을 악평하여 이르되 우리가 두루 다니며 정탐한 땅은 그 거주민을 삼키는 땅이요 거기서 본 모든 백성은 신장이 장대한 자들이며
2. We underestimate OUR ABILILTIES
“We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” Numbers 13:33
33 거기서 네피림 후손인 아낙 자손의 거인들을 보았나니 우리는 스스로 보기에도 메뚜기 같으니 그들이 보기에도 그와 같았을 것이니라
3. We GET DISCOURAGED
“Then all the people began weeping aloud, and they carried on all night!” Numbers 14:1
1 온 회중이 소리를 높여 부르짖으며 백성이 밤새도록 통곡하였더라
4. We START TO GRIPE ABOUT OUR LIVES
“All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron... ‘We wish we had died in Egypt!’ they wailed, ‘Or even here in the wilderness!’” Numbers 14:2

5. We EVENTUALLY GIVE UP & BLAME GOD!
“Why is the Lord bringing us to this land to be killed with swords… We’d be better off going back to Egypt!” Numbers 14:3
3 어찌하여 여호와가 우리를 그 땅으로 인도하여 칼에 쓰러지게 하려 하는가 우리 처자가 사로잡히리니 애굽으로 돌아가는 것이 낫지 아니하랴
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE SEE WITH EYES OF FAITH?
1. FAITH SHRINKS MY PROBLEMS
“Is anything too hard for the Lord?” Genesis 18:14a
14 여호와께 능하지 못한 일이 있겠느냐 기한이 이를 때에 내가 네게로 돌아오리니 사라에게 아들이 있으리라
“For nothing is impossible with God!” Luke 1:37
37 대저 하나님의 모든 말씀은 능하지 못하심이 없느니라
2. FAITH OPENS THE DOOR FOR A MIRACLE
Jesus said, “Have faith in God! If you have faith in God and you don’t doubt, you could tell this mountain to get up and jump into the sea, and it would. Whatever you ask for in prayer will be yours, IF you only have the faith.” Mark 11:22-24
22 예수께서 그들에게 대답하여 이르시되 하나님을 믿으라
23 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 누구든지 이 산더러 들리어 바다에 던져지라 하며 그 말하는 것이 이루어질 줄 믿고 마음에 의심하지 아니하면 그대로 되리라

3. FAITH MOVES GOD TO ACT ON MY BEHALF
Jesus said, “According to your faith it will be done to you.” Matthew 9:29
29 이에 예수께서 그들의 눈을 만지시며 이르시되 너희 믿음대로 되라 하시니
4. FAITH UNLOCKS ALL THE PROMISES OF GOD
“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are all ‘Yes’ in Christ!” 2 Corinthians 1:20a
20 하나님의 약속은 얼마든지 그리스도 안에서 예가 되니 그런즉 그로 말미암아 우리가 아멘 하여 하나님께 영광을 돌리게 되느니라
5. FAITH TURNS GOD-GIVEN DREAMS INTO REALITY
“Glory be to God, who by his mighty power at work within us, is able to do FAR MORE than we would ever DARE TO ASK or even DREAM of—infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes!”

6. FAITH GIVES ME POWER TO HOLD ON IN TOUGH TIMES

WHAT IS IT? A two month focus on growing, sowing and going in FAITH
“Let your roots GROW down into him and draw up nourishment from him, so that you will grow in faith, strong and vigorous...” Colossians 2:7 (NLT)

4 PURPOSES
1. TO ADVANCE OUR SPIRITUAL MATURITY BY STRETCHING OUR FAITH
“When your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you’ll be strong in character and ready for anything!” James 1:3-4 (NLT)

2. TO ENHANCE OUR RELATIONAL UNITY BY COOPERATING TOGETHER

3. TO FINANCE OUR GLOBAL MINISTRY through an offering and our 36 month giving pledged
Paul: “What we’re hoping for is that as your lives grow in faith, you’ll play a greater part within our expanding work.” 2 Corinthians 10:15b (MSG)

4. TO HONOR THE EVERYDAY HEROES OF FAITH SERVING IN OUR CHURCH FAMILY
“Epaphroditus works and serves with me in the army of Christ. When I needed help, you sent him to me... Welcome him back in the Lord with much joy and give honor to people like him, for he risked his life to give me the help I needed, that you could not provide.” Philippians 2:25, 29-30 (NCV)

HOW WILL WE BUILD OUR FAITH?
By challenging people to stretch their faith, take wise risks, learn to trust God and practice sacrificial generosity like Christ:
• Through 10 weekend messages on “Daring Faith: The Key to Miracles”
• Through 6 small group videos “Learning to Live by Faith” (after Easter)
• Through Daily Devotional readings on Faith
• Through a 3-year Faith-Commitment Offering - May 8-9
• Through recognitions, fellowship, and projects
WHAT WE WON’T DO
1. We WON’T PRESSURE anyone to give
“Each one should give what he has decided in his heart to give, NOT reluctantly or under pressure, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7

2. We WON’T SELL anything!

24 다윗 왕이 오르난에게 이르되 그렇지 아니하다 내가 반드시 상당한 값으로 사리라 내가 여호와께 드리려고 네 물건을 빼앗지 아니하겠고 값 없이는 번제를 드리지도 아니하리라 하니라
3. We WON’T promote products mixed with giving
“Promote my product to the church & I’ll give”
WHAT WE WILL DO WITHOUT APOLOGY
• We will show how everyone can give something
• We will ask people to sacrifice
• We will follow the biblical pattern for an offering in 1 Chronicles 29

Mark 6:34-44 – The Miracle of Feeding the 5,000
1. ADMIT I HAVE AN UNSOLVABLE PROBLEM
“When Jesus...saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them…so he began teaching them. By this time it was late in the day, so his disciples came and said, ‘This is a remote place. Send the people away so they can go and buy something to eat.’ But Jesus answered, ‘Yougive them something to eat!’ They said, ‘That would take eight months of a man’s wages!’” Mark 6:34-37a (NIV)
34 예수께서 나오사 큰 무리를 보시고 그 목자 없는 양 같음으로 인하여 불쌍히 여기사 이에 여러 가지로 가르치시더라

2. GIVE GOD WHAT LITTLE I HAVE
“‘How many loaves do you have?’ Jesus asked. ‘Go and see.’ When they found out, they said, ‘Five small loaves of bread and two fish.’" Mark 6:38 (NIV)

FOUR BENEFITS OF BELIEVING IN JESUS
1. EVERYTHING I’VE EVER DONE WRONG IS FORGIVEN
“...All who believe in Jesus will be forgiven of their sins through Jesus' name." Acts 10:43 (NCV)

3. I GET A GOD’S STRENGTH FOR DAILY LIVING
“God gives power to those who are tired and worn out, and he offers strength to the weak.” Isaiah 40:29 (NLT)

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO “BELIEVE IN JESUS”?

Turn EVERYTHING OVER TO JESUS
“IF you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is my Lord," and BELIEVE in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved!” Romans 10:9
9 네가 만일 네 입으로 예수를 주로 시인하며 또 하나님께서 그를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 것을 네 마음에 믿으면 구원을 받으리라
RElax IN His love
“Nothing will ever be able to separate us from his love. Death can't, and life can't. The angels can't, and demons can't. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can't keep God's love away. 38 내가 확신하노니 사망이나 생명이나 천사들이나 권세자들이나 현재 일이나 장래 일이나 능력이나

USE MY LIFE TO SERVE GOD BY SERVING OTHERS
“Give yourselves completely to God -- every part of you -- for you’ve been saved from death and you want to be tools in the hands of God, to be used for his good purposes.” Romans 6:13 (LB)
13 또한 너희 지체를 불의의 무기로 죄에게 내주지 말고 오직 너희 자신을 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 살아난 자 같이 하나님께 드리며 너희 지체를 의의 무기로 하나님께 드리라
“God has made us what we are, and in our union with Christ Jesus he has created us for a life of good works, which he has already prepared for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10 (TEV)
10 우리는 그가 만드신 바라 그리스도 예수 안에서 선한 일을 위하여 지으심을 받은 자니 이 일은 하나님이 전에 예비하사 우리로 그 가운데서 행하게 하려 하심이니라
Suffer FOR DOING WHAT’S RIGHT
“For you have been given not only the privilege of believingin Christ but also the privilege of sufferingfor him.” Philippians 1:29 (NLT)
29 그리스도를 위하여 너희에게 은혜를 주신 것은 다만 그를 믿을 뿐 아니라 또한 그를 위하여 고난도 받게 하려 하심이라
“But if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don't be afraid and don't worry.” 1 Peter 3:14 (NLT)
14 그러나 의를 위하여 고난을 받으면 복 있는 자니 그들이 두려워하는 것을 두려워하지 말며 근심하지 말고

“For the word of the Lord always holds true, and everything he does is worthy of our trust.” Psalm 33:4 (NLT)
4 여호와의 말씀은 정직하며 그가 행하시는 일은 다 진실하시도다

1. My imagination shapes my life

2. WE ARE GOING TO GO TOGETHER FOR SUPPORT
“(Paul & Barnabas) strengthened the disciples and encouraged them to remain true to the faith, reminding them that we must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God." Acts 14:22
22 제자들의 마음을 굳게 하여 이 믿음에 머물러 있으라 권하고 또 우리가 하나님의 나라에 들어가려면 많은 환난을 겪어야 할 것이라 하고
“...I want to hear that you are working together and that you are struggling side by side to get others to believe the good news... Don’t be intimidated by those who oppose you... You have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him. 27 오직 너희는 그리스도의 복음에 합당하게 생활하라 이는 내가 너희에게 가 보나 떠나 있으나 너희가 한마음으로 서서 한 뜻으로 복음의 신앙을 위하여 협력하는 것과

1 그러므로 그리스도 안에 무슨 권면이나 사랑의 무슨 위로나 성령의 무슨 교제나 긍휼이나 자비가 있거든
2 마음을 같이하여 같은 사랑을 가지고 뜻을 합하며 한마음을 품어

8 그러므로 우리가 이같은 자들을 영접하는 것이 마땅하니 이는 우리로 진리를 위하여 함께 일하는 자가 되게 하려 함이라
3. WE ARE GOING TO GO ON TO MATURITY
“Let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity...” Hebrews 6:1 (NIV)
1 그러므로 우리가 그리스도의 도의 초보를 버리고 죽은 행실을 회개함과 하나님께 대한 신앙과
“The more you go on in this way, the more you will grow strongspiritually and become fruitful and useful to our Lord Jesus.” 2 Peter 1:8 (LB)
8 이런 것이 너희에게 있어 흡족한즉 너희로 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 알기에 게으르지 않고 열매 없는 자가 되지 않게 하려니와
“Anyone who fails to go after these additions to faith is blind, or very shortsighted and has forgotten that God delivered us from the old life of sin so that now we can live a strong, good life for the Lord!” 2 Peter 1:9 (LB)

4. WE ARE GOING TO GO TELL THE GOOD NEWS
"Anyone who asks the Lord for help will be saved. But before people can trust in the Lord, they must believe in him. And before they can believe in him, they must hear about him. And to hear about him someone must GO AND TELL them! And before someone can go and tell them, he must be sent. It is written, ‘How beautiful is the person who comes to bring good news.’” Romans 10:13-15 (ICB)
13 누구든지 주의 이름을 부르는 자는 구원을 받으리라
14 그런즉 그들이 믿지 아니하는 이를 어찌 부르리요 듣지도 못한 이를 어찌 믿으리요 전파하는 자가 없이 어찌 들으리요
15 보내심을 받지 아니하였으면 어찌 전파하리요 기록된 바 아름답도다 좋은 소식을 전하는 자들의 발이여 함과 같으니라
