Jesus appeals to the thirsty

By standing up and crying out Jesus attracts attention
John 7:37 “On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!”

Jesus encourages belief

The word “believes” in John 7:38 is translated in the NLT as entrust and “faith” elsewhere in the New Testament.
In John 7:38 it speaks about believing in the Jesus of the Gospel, not an imitation.
John 7:38 NLT
Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’ ”

Jesus promises the Spirit

A Future reality

Jesus will be glorified

Jesus needed to be glorified before the Spirit could be sent.
