THE WAY BLESS PEOPLE WALK
The Psalm is alphabetical. Eight stanzas commence with one letter, and then another eight with the next letter, and so the whole Psalm proceeds by octonaries quite through the twenty-two letters of the Hebrew alphabet
The great puritan Philip Henry state that to love psalm 119 would bring people to be in love with scripture.
The word of God is describe in eight distinctive terms
"Law." means to direct, to guide, to aim, to shoot forwards.
"Testimonies” which means signifies to bear witness, to testify.
"Precepts," which means to place in trust,
"Statutes." which means a definite, prescribed, written law, —that moral law of God which is engraven on the fleshy tables of the heart;
"Commandments," which means to command or ordain.
"Judgments," which means to govern, to judge or determine legal sanctions.
“Words" which means spoken word; discourse; communication; revelation.
“The way”, which means: to proceed, It is the way of God; the way in which God instructs man to go to be saved, holy, and happy.
