Oh, good morning and welcome to New Grace Baptist Church and it is Sunday September 19th, and I'm glad that you are here and we hope everyone had a great week. Well today we're going to continue in our series Victory in Jesus. This will be the second to the last sermon in the series. We've been preaching on this now for going on two and a half three months. And today. I think that when we look at the sermon today that this may be the most important one that I preached in this series and it may be one of the most important sermons that I've ever preached here at new Grace. Because today, we're going to talk about how to fall in line with the spirit. Now, when I say that, what I mean is, how to follow, how to be filled with the spirit and how to walk in the spirit. So, what I want us to do is so we're been Galatians 5 verses 22 through 23 for several months. Now today we're going to go to the end of the chapter. So we going to look at verses 22 through 26 and so left read that together. You can follow along in your Bible if you like and we going to put it up on the screen also. So this is what the Bible says, but the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience. Kindness goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control against such things. There is no law and those who belong to Christ, Jesus have crucified, the flesh with his passions and desires. If we live by the spirit, let us also keep in step with the spirit. Not some of your translations may say, let us also walk in the spirit. Let us not become king. Seated provoking one, another envying one another. Well this scripture that we have been covering them. When you look at it. The world does not see Christ. Physically as the disciples saw him. And other words today, the world sees Christ through his body, not his physical body, but through his body the church, which is made up of True Believers. So, in studying the fruit of the spirit, we have been brought face-to-face with the kind of life that God expects us to live if we are truly to represent him in our world. Now, when you look at all these attributes, hear the fruit of the spirit love joy. Peace, patience. Kindness goodness, faithfulness. Jonah self-control. When you look at all those that kind of living Looks to be impossible and it is impossible in our own strength. You see, this is a supernatural type of living that God has called us and we need a supernatural power in our life to live this way. And of course, we have that in the person of the holy spirit. So today, this is probably the longest outline that I've ever had here at this church. The first two points, so I've have I have four points. The first two will probably get through in in 6 or 7 minutes. So it won't take long and I was kind of a recap of what we've already studied, but points 3 and 4. Today, we're going to spend a lot more time on that. So let me kind of give you the outline before we actually see it. I'm going to talk about the characteristics of a Spirit-filled life. That's that's all these words. Here. The love joy. Peace. All this. That we have studied and then I'm going to talk about the need to be filled with the spirit. Cuz we can't do it in our own strength and I'm just going to give you some reasons why we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit. But then, starting in .3, what I want to give you is the way of Christian victory. In other words, how can we have victory in our life? Because it just seems like if we look at our life, we win some victories, but then we lose quite a few as well. And I think this is the most important part here and then in point for we're just going to talk about four attitudes that you need to have to be filled with the spirit. Let's go ahead and start and we'll look at point one first, and that is the characteristics of a Spirit-filled life and you see me, I have three here. Now. What we want to do and I've already talked about in this series. Is that the first three attributes of the Fruit of the Spirit? We look up weird because that talks about our relationship with God. The next three we looked outward to others, and then the last three that we studied. We look inward to ourselves. So let's go back to the fruit of the spirit and notice what it says. It says, the fruit of the spirit is love joy and peace. So we going to divide these in three sections and love, joy, and peace. Fruit of the spirit, that speaks of our relationship with God. We have love in our lives because of the love of God, given to us. By the Holy Spirit, we have joy because we have Jesus Christ how much more joy can a person have to know that he has Christ. And that for eternity, he's going to spend it with him. So we have joy and we have peace because we have God and no matter what the circumstances are in Life, or what our culture is doing. We have the peace of God, which passes all understanding. So love, joy and peace. Is a relationship with God within the next three. Patient. Kindness and goodness. We look out weird because this is our relationship with others. They're important because we're supposed to relate positively with others. And if our relationship with God is right, then I relationship with others ought to be right also, so we should be kind to others. We should do and you do good and serve others. And we are to be patient with other people. Long-suffering the King James says, it's so that's our attitude toward other people. And then, the last three that we studied was faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. That is our relationship in word, as we look at ourselves what Paul was telling us under the inspiration of the holy spirit is that Christians are to have good relationships with a father, good relationships with the others in the body of Christ and outside and we are to be related. Properly to our sales. We are to be faithful. We are to be gentle and have a humble Spirit about us and we are to be self-controlled people that we don't go off the deep end. We're not too high. We're not too love, we have self-control. So all of that, all those 9, if you will be divided them in three categories and that is their the characteristics of a Spirit-filled life relationship with God relationship with others relationship with Ourself, so that's the first point. Now, let's talk about the need to be filled with the spirit. Why do we need to be filled with the spirit? So let me give you three reasons here. So when you look at these nine characteristics, that we just looked at many times, we look at that. It'll bring us to our knees as we realize that we cannot possibly achieve such a life if we attempt to do it by ourselves. Now, there are several reasons why I will never live, this kind of Life, unless we're filled with the spirit of God. And fur. In the first reason is because we are deficient to do. God's will now. Look what Jesus said in John 15:5. He says, I am the vine and you are the branches, he who abides in me. He who rest in me and I in him, How much fruit? So he's saying here that if you abide in me and I abide in you you will bear much fruit. What, how is that? Because he tells us for without me, you can do nothing. So without Jesus or without the spirit of God directing and leading us in our life, even with the best intentions without him. We can really do nothing that amounts to much so we need him. You see we are deficient if you will to do God's Will and notice what Romans 8 says It says so then those who are in The Flash or those who live by the flesh cannot please. God. No, I'm not talking about those who run around and just live the way they want to ungodly lifestyle. This is talking about those who are saved and those people who have good intentions to live a life that is pleasing to God, but yet they leave the Holy Spirit out that leave God out. They leave Jesus out and they just used your own gifts and talents and abilities that they have and they try to live a life that pleasing to God friend we can go to church and we can sing in the choir. We can teach Sunday school but yet still live life In the Flesh. When we do not abide in him, when he does not abide in Us and other words when we have our own agenda, even though it's with good motives, a good intentions. The Bible says, those are in the flash those who do not rely on the Holy Spirit. Cannot please God. So, we see here where deficient to do. God's will we can't do that. We are dependent on Jesus, but then there's also a third reason here and that is that the Christian Life is a supernatural life. The reason we can't live this life alone. Is because this life we require something Supernatural. You see the world in the Christian faith are on completely different wavelengths. God has called us not only to live a stringent and demanding life, but he has asked us to live it in a context that doesn't know anything about what we're doing. You see the world doesn't understand the Christian experience and if we try to live that life in our own strength we are going to fail. It is a supernatural life that must be lived leaning and relying on the power of the Holy Spirit. You see, there's no way to live the Christian Life without the spirit of God being in control of our life. So look, I probably been preaching out five or six minute and we are already finished with the first two points, but we're going to slow down now because in .3. I want to take some time on this because this is really important teaching in this. If we don't get this then we met we may just live a life. That's just kind of humdrum laxidasical. No power in it and not any Victory whatsoever. We just kind of live a humdrum Christian Life unless we get this teaching here. So we've looked at the characteristics of a Spirit-filled life. The characteristics. Remember was the relationship with God love joy. Peace relationship with others and then relationship with self and then we looked at the deed to be filled with the spirit. Well, we're just efficient to do God's will, but we need him without him. We can do nothing. We're depending on Jesus. And then the Christian Life is a supernatural life. And we need the power of the Holy Spirit. What I want us to look at in .3 here is simply this the way of Christian Victory. You see, we can sit here and talk about well, yeah, be filled with the spirit and why Walk in the spirit and we can talk about all nine of those characteristics. And I spent one week going over all nine of them, but then the question has to arrive. How do I do it? I know that I need, I need the Holy Spirit to talk about. How do you get it? How do you walk in the spirit? How are you filled with the spirit of where we can live a life? That it's not only pleasing to God, but it's a life of Victory. We don't want to live a life,. Consistently kind of like Paul said, the things I want to do. I don't do and the things that I don't want to do. That's what I do for many of us. That's the life that we live. So we need to understand the way. Of Christian Victory this morning and I want to share it with you and we see it in Galatians 5 specifically beginning in verse 24, and this is what the Bible says and those who belong to Christ Jesus. Have crucified, the flesh with his passions and desires, those of us who are saved those of us, who have who belong to Christ Jesus. The Bible says, we have crucified The Flash with his passions and desires. Now, what I want you to understand, I'm going to explain this in a minute that when it says that we have crucified, the flesh. There is a passive context to that, that I will explain first, but there's also an active context. In other words. Something's been done for us, passively. But yet, there's still something that we need to do ourselves. And then look even scuse me at verse 25. If we live by the spirit, let us also keep in step with the spirit or walk with the spirit. So the two things that we're going to have to do, is to crucify the Flesh and to walk with the spirit and each of them has a passive context and an active. In other words. There's something that God is going to do for us. But yet there's something that we have to do as well. So let's look at this and see exactly what it is. The first thing that we must do. Is we must slay the flash or the Bible says crucify, the flesh. Now this phrase again. It occurs in verse 24. It said those who belong to Christ Jesus. You can follow along in your Bible. Those who belong to Christ. Jesus have crucified, the flesh with his passions and desires that, let me explain what this verse means. Because it is frequently misunderstood notice that this crucifixion of The Flash and we'll put it back on the screen. This is verse 24. Notice. This crucifixion of the flesh, here is something that is done not to us, but by us. It is sad that we have crucified the flesh. Now. Let me show you what this versus talkin about by showing you what is not talkin about to begin with? So let's look at Galatians 2:20. Now. This is the passive part of crucifying the flash. Now. This is what Paul said and Glaciers 220. He says, I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me. What is he talkin about? Hear what he's saying? Is that at the moment of his conversion and what he saying to us, at the moment that you were saved. Positionally and principally. You were crucified with Christ. In other words is no longer. I who live, just on my own whims. And what I want to do, but Christ lives in me. In other words, he controls me now and he says, in the Life, which I now live in the flesh. I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Now, that was Galatians. 2:20. Look at what Romans 6 6s. Again, the same thing. Watch out says, we know that our old self was crucified with him. When was it crucify? At the moment. We were saved the moment. We were saved that old nature of hours. That old sinful nature was crucified with him, in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. In other words, what he saying before we were saved before our conversions? We were enslaved to sin. But now that we have been saved, we were crucified with him. That old sin nature was crucified on the cross and we're no longer enslaved to sin. Now we can be slaves to God. You seeing those verses we are told that by our faith Union, our trust in Christ. We have been crucified with him that happened when we accepted Christ as our savior. So positionally principally our old Nature has been crucified. It has no power over us but you say but it does have power. Well, that's why I said, this is principally. Theoretically that's the way it is, but life tells us differently, our own life. All we have to do is look at and say, we'll wait a minute. I may not be enslaved to sin. But sometimes it seems that I am and it seems The things I don't want to do. That's what I do in the things that I should do. I don't do so I am. It feels any way that I am enslaved to send. Well that brings us to the active part. So if passively principally we are no longer enslaved to see and we have crucified the flesh. Well, what does how does this work out practically in our life? Well, I think Paul bars the image here, crucifixion from Christ himself because Christ said something in Luke chapter 9 verse 23 and I want you to look at this. This will be very familiar to many of you and this is what he said. And he said to all, if anyone would come after me. Let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. You see the take up the cross, was our Lord's picture here. Of self-denial. Every follower of Christ is to behave like a Condemned criminal. A cherry his cross to the place of execution and now Paul takes this metaphor to The Logical conclusion. We must not only take up or across and walk with it. But we have to make sure that the execution takes place. In other words. We are to actively, take the flesh, take are willful, and Wayward Son. Take this flash of hours. Take this notion of ours that wants to live for our kingdom instead of God's kingdom. Take the notion that we want to live for our plans and purposes and desires and not God's plans purposes and desire. We have to take that daily. Each and every morning when we get up, we going to have to say, lord, it's not my kingdom. That matters is your kingdom. Lord is not. My desire is not. My plan is not my purposes. It is. You're planning purposes Kingdom. And desires that I want to live for today. We have to do that. How does Jesus say it daily? You see that's Then we have to actively do. Yes, when we were born again, at the moment of conversion. We crucified The Flash befriend, The Flash didn't die is still within us, and we daily have to go about crucifying that flash again. So you see it has a passive contact and it has an active contact here. So, this is Paul's graphic picture of repentance turning our back on a old way of life of selfishness and seeing and repudiating it, finally, and utterly and friends. We have to do this date. We can't just rely on what Christ did for us on the cross and say, well, that's all, I'm worried about principally. I have crucified to flash my friend. We can't do that. We have to take up our cross than our sales, How often daily the Bible says, so let's talk about this. Crucifying the Flesh and other words, exactly. What is it saying? And let me give you three points. About how to slay the flash, some attitudes about it. Number one. We must be ruthless with the flash. You see crucifixion in the Roman world was not a pleasant form of execution and it was not administered to nice people or refined people or just a few people who had made a few mistakes or something like that. No, crucifixion was reserved for the worst of criminals. So if we are to crucify our flash daily, it is plain to me that the flash is not something that we are to treat with respect or with courtesy and other words are on desires and purposes. And plan living for our own kingdom friends. We have to nail that to the Cross daily. We have to be ruthless with it. But if you listen to a lot of Psychology today, they're going to tell you. Oh, you have the goodness within you and you can do it. For sale red know. There's nothing good in US. It it we have to be ruthless with our flash because our flash is always been away from God. It's going to tell you to do, what you want to do, to make your plants to live for your kingdom, your plans. Your purpose is what you want to do in life. So we have to be ruthless with it in something, this evil deserves. No better fate than to be crucified. So when we slay the flash, the active part, I'm talking about, we have to be ruthless. Secondly just understand this when we do that it will be painful. You see crucifixion was a form of execution in it attended with it. It just intense pain and how many of us does not know the pain inner conflict wanting to do what's right, but for some reason it seems like we always fall in the ditch and we end up doing what we know. We shouldn't how many of us does not know. Pain of inner conflict when the fleeting pleasures of sin overtakes us. And then, thirdly this slaying of The Flash, this crucifying of The Flash daily. It has to be decisive. You see, death by crucifixion was not an instantaneous death. It was a lingering death. Now, it was certain that the person would die criminals who were nailed to the cross. Did not survive, but I have read in places where some people who were crucify. It may take 3 5 6 7 days before they actually died. So crucifixion produced death, not suddenly, but gradually. And as Christians, we're not going to succeed in completely destroying the flash, while we're here on this Earth. Although we nail it to the Cross daily. We take it to the Lord. Daily, but we have it fixed to the cross and we have to leave it. There. It is. A slow death, once a criminal have been nailed to the cross. He was left there to die. And then they would Place soldiers at the scene of the execution to guard the victim. In other words. They didn't want someone coming by taking that person down because if they took him down soon enough that person may be able to live. And that's why I pulse is now those who belong to Christ, Jesus have crucified, The Flash, with his passions and desires. So when we looked at it passively that's a one-time deal. When we were saved in principle and in and positionally we had crucified the flesh. But by our own experience, we know that since steel rains in us at times, and we have to crucify the flesh daily. And that's what I'm talkin about here. We have to be active. We have to confess our sins. We have to repent of our We have to put those sins on the cross and friends. We have to leave them there. And that repentance at must be decisive, just like crucifixion was. So we must renew everyday this attitude towards sin. We need to be ruthless minute uncompromising with it. And that's why Jesus said, we must do this daily. We must deny ourselves and daily take up your cross. So if it's Samba setting sin is plaguing you. Well, it may be because you're either neither repented of it or because you have not maintained your repentance. You see is this sometimes it's like we nail that old nature to the Cross, but then we start thinking about what how fun. This isn't how I'd like to live this way and do this and we keep returning to the scene of the execution and we want to look at it and we want to loan for and finally will. Baker hammer. And we'll take the nails out and we'll take it down from the Cross Ranch. We need to leave that old nature. We need to crucify the flesh. We need to leave it on the cross and it is fatal to begin to examine it and then all of a sudden want to sit down at the table and negotiate with the flash know. We need to be ruthless. It's going to be painful but we have to be decisive. We have settled the issue for good. We're not going to reopen it. We have crucified The Flash and we're never going to draw out the nails friends. That's why, when I hear people say that, here's what I'm going to do with my life. I'm just going to let go and let God. That is a recipe for disaster. You say, why? Because you're only doing 50% of it, right? Yes. We need to let God, we need to let him have his way, but we just can't let go and do nothing. We can't sit back and do anything. You see, there's an active respect aspect of this. We have to slay the flash, just like Jesus said, pick up your cross, daily deny yourself and follow me. So the way the Christian Victory. The first thing is we have to slay the flash passively when we accepted Christ, positionally principally. We we crucified to flash your friend. There has to be an active context of that and every day we have to do it every day. We get up. We have to say Lord today. I'm living for your kingdom. Today. I'm going to live for Your purpose and your plan for my life, not my own. Well, that's the first thing we need to do to have Victory slay. The flesh. Well, there's a second thing that we need to do as well and that is submit to the spirit and just like crucify the flesh. Submitting to the spirit has a passive aspect and it has an active aspect. So let's look at what the Bible says here in verse 25. The Bible says, if we live by the spirit, now what that means there is, if we are controlled by the spirit, I'll talk more about that in a moment. If we live by the spirit. Let us also keep in step with the spirit. Now. This is what we're saying. Here. It is the spirit. Who does the leading. In other words, if we are controlled by the spirit, in other words, we have to come to the point in our lives that I have made a mess of my life. I need to let go and let God. In other words. I need to give him control. Now. I know many of you like in our household, whoever holds the remote control, kind of controls the den, you can watch on TV what you want. Why? Because you have the remote control with. What we need to do is we need to give the remote control of our life to the Holy Spirit. We need to allow him to lead us past the best of passive context. We can't leave our own life the way we want to, because we don't know how to do. It was Beth. He has best in mind for us. That's why he gave. Holy Spirit, we turn our life over to him. That's why Paul says no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me, so there's a passive expect. The friend. Look what it says, if we are controlled by the spirit, let us also walk or keep in step with the spirit. So again, there's something we must do we must actively follow the Holy Spirit to where he leads us. Now, this verb here, being lay at used of a farmer herding cattle or herding sheep or or it was used of soldiers escorting, a prisoner to court or to prison. It was used metaphorically of good and evil spirits, the evil power of Satan Leading Men astray or when the Holy Spirit Led Christ to the Wilderness when he was tempted by Satan. You see, as our leader, the Holy Spirit, he takes the initiative. He asserts his desires against those of our flesh, and he forms within us. These, holy and heavenly. And he puts this gentle pressure upon us and we have to yield to his Direction and control. So you give the Holy Spirit, you give him the remote control of your life, but friends, listen, it is a great mistake to suppose that our whole Duty lies in passive submission to the spirits control. If all we do is just surrender to his lady. You see on the contrary here. He says let us also keep in step with the spirit. In other words, weird, a walk actively, and purposely in the right way. The holy spirit is the path we walk in, as well, as the guy who shows us the way. Now, this becomes clear. When we look at this word walk. Now, if you have your Bible, I want you to look in Galatians chapter 5 and if you would, I want you to look in verse 16. Now. This is what the Bible says. He says, I say, then walk in the spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. So he says, walk in the spirit. And look what he says in verse 25. If we live in the spirit, let us also walk in the spirit. So the same English word in both places are used in that word is walk. But the Greek words are very different. You see the verb in verse 16, where it says walk in. The spirit is just the ordinary Greek word for walking. The Greek word is Perry potato. So, what that means is if you just go outside, you walk, or maybe you go in your neighborhood and you walk for exercise. That's the typo. That's the type the word that you would use for just casual walking. But the, but the word for walking verse 25 is story Echo. And what that literally means is to fall in line. It means to keep in step with like the ESV says here, it means to walk in or lie, or to be in line with you. See, this was a military word. And when the commander was usually, when the commander would say, Okay, fall in line. What does the soldiers do? They fall in line, either right? Beside the commander or right behind it. They fall in line. If he says write face March, they write face in March, right in line. They're being led by the commander. They are walking. They are falling in line, and he is the ruler of the standard or the principle that is being followed and the Holy Spirit in our life. We give him the remote control. And then when he says go here, when he says do this, we fall in line, we get right behind him and we walk and follow him. So to walk by the steer. Is to deliberately walk along the path or cording to the line that the Holy Spirit lays down for us to the spirit leads us, but we are to walk by him according to his rule. So as therefore we crucify the flesh, we repudiate what we know to be wrong. But we also must walk by the spirit setting ourselves up to follow. What we know to be right. We were Jack One path to follow. Another path. We turn from what is evil in order to occupy ourselves with what is good. And it is vital to be ruthless and turning away from the things of the flesh, but it's equally vital to be disciplined, and turning toward those things of the spirit. And that's why the spirit or the Bible tells us to set our minds on the things of the spirit to seek those things that are above and friends. This will be seen in Our whole way of life in the Leisure occupations. We pursue the books. We read the movies. We watch the friends we make and we need to make a diligent use of the means of Grace. That means that we practice prayer. That means that we practice Fellowship in scripture reading scripture, meditation. Fellowship with other believers who provoked us to love a good work. We come to church on Sunday. We keep the Lord's day. We attend worship. We praise and we sing to the Lord, and we partake of the Lord's supper together. That's the means of Grace that he uses so that we can keep in line with the spirit. So, let's go back to point three again. And let's recap, what we have to do is lay the fat Flash, both passively and aggressively. When we were saved. We were crucified with Christ, but we know by the experience of life that we have to take up our cross daily. We have to deny ourselves and we have to Crucify, the flesh daily, both passively and actively. And then of course, what's the second submit to the spirit? That means that we give him the the remote control where controlled by the spirit that means that we actively walk and fall in line and follow the spirit and friends. When we do, that's when we'll start bearing. The fruit of the spirit that Paul talks about in Galatians 5. And Jesus talked about in John chapter 15. Well, I know that's a lot to take in. You say, well, you know, this is good teaching and all. But just give me some weight. How do I, how do I start? How, how, how do I do it? So, my last point is this how to be filled with the spirit or friends? Just just let me say this. First of all, you have to have a desire to live a Spirit-filled life. You see, there's a lot of Christians out there who aren't interested in being Spirit-filled or there's a lot of Christians out there who really don't know, never heard teaching like this, and or maybe it would just be inconvenient. They don't want to get that deep in the scripture. But if we're going to take the first step, if we want to have victory in our Christian Life, we have to desire to be filled by the Holy Spirit. We have to understand that without Christ. We can do nothing that we can't do this on our own. We are depending on Jesus. The Christian Life is a supernatural life and we have to desire to be filled. That's the first step. Step. Number two. We have to denounce any sin in our life. And there's a reason the holy spirit is called holy and that is because he cannot control the life of a person. Who is harboring? No known sin in his life and friends. If you want the spirit to control your life. You've got to deal with the sin that's in your life. That means that you have to admit it that you have to confess it and that you have to forsake. That's why the Bible says, the Simon said, if I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me any known sin in your life. You've got to go and take it and nail it crucify, The Flash Nail it to the cross, and don't keep going back to the Cross jerking those Nails out and bring it down. You have to leave it there. It may be a long day off, but you have to leave it there eventually it will die. And that's when Christ comes back and receives us all and takes us to heaven with, they'll be no more send. That'll be the end of The Flash while we're walking on this Earth. Repent of it, put it on the cross daily and leave it there. Number three. And I think this might be the most important. We have to discipline ourselves. To read the word. Friends not. Listen, the Holy Spirit works. With the word of God in our life that we know. You see, the reason the Holy Spirit doesn't control more lives. Is because he doesn't have anything to work with dreads. If you if the word of God is Not prevalent in your life. If you don't have the word of God stored in your heart and in your mind, the Holy Spirit doesn't have any ammunition to work. With the ministry of the holy spirit is to lead us and guide us and convictus and teachers and directors, but he can't do that. If the word of God is not in your heart and in your life, because that's what he uses for conviction. In for confession, the word of God. We read the word of God, with convicted about something, we confessed that saying before, and after word of God is not in your life. You're, you're not giving the Holy Spirit, anything to work with. That's why so many Christians live. Just a laxidasical humdrum Christian Life. There's no power in their life because the word of God is Not in their life and listen, the holy spirit is not going to make you do. What is right. He's not going to make you do. What's right, his job is to make you want to do, what's, right, but he's not going to put a rope around you and drag you to heaven. He's not going to put a chain around your neck or, or make you say uncle by twisting your arm to make you do. What is right? No, that's the active part of it. We have to follow, we have to walk and if we're going to do it, the word of God must be in our heart. In mind. That way he has ammunition the work with in our own life and then fourthly. I put hear Pastor remote but I should have put pastor remote, slash follow the spirit. You see, we have to die to our own ambition. Remember what Paul said, those who are Christ's have crucified, the flesh with his passions and desires. If you want God's spirit to control your life. You have got to stop controlling him. If you want to live a Spirit-filled. If you want to walk in the spirit, if you want to be filled with the spirit, you have to stop controlling your own life and you have to give the remote to him. And when you give it to him, when he says, move when he says go you have to practically get up and actively walk and follow him. That's how we going to live the life that Christ has called us to live in Galatians 5, 22, and 23. Yes, you have to let go and let God. But you also have to crucify the flesh daily and actively walk. After the spirit and friends. When you do that. You will live a life. That is pleasing to God. You will live a life where you have victory in your life more than the feet. And you will live a life where you will bear fruit for Jesus and Friends. There's nothing that we can do, that's more important than that. Well, let's pray father. We thank you and praise you and love you today. For this very important teaching and Lord. I pray that we would all here today. Examine our own hearts and Lord see where we are. As we try to live the Christian Life and see where we are, as we try to Bear the fruit of the spirit Lord. I pray today. That each one here would desire to be filled with the spirit. I pray that each one here today that if there's any known sin in our life that we would confess it because we know that you are faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and to cleanse us from All unrighteousness In Lord, help us to discipline ourselves. To read the word of God, to get the word of God in our hearts and in our lives, because that's what the holy spirit will use to lead us and guide us, and teach us in convictus. In our daily life and Lord, for those who don't like to give up control for those of us who like to keep the remote control. Lord, help us to see that God only wants what's Best in her life. And we will only achieve that when we allow him to lead us, Lord, help us to pass the remote and help us to fall in line in follow him. In Christ name. I do pray. Amen.
