The Declaration of Faith (1-3)

David declared the Lord was his source of strength.
David spoke of God’s attributes in three primary ways:
Yahweh is my light = Illumination and direction
Yahweh is my Salvation = rescue, deliverance
Yahweh is my Stronghold = Fortress, refuge, protection
Because of Who God Is David had no need for fear.
“(The Lord) is our light, so we need not fear because of darkness; He is our strength, so we need not fear because of weakness; and He is our salvation, so the victory is sure.” - Warren Wiersbe

The Desire of Faith (4-10)

David’s earnest desire was to be in God’s presence.
He description is not that he wants to be a priest, but that he want’s God’s presence (“to behold the beauty of the Lord”), and God’s direction (“to inquire in His Holy Temple).
David’s faith was that God would deliver Him from trouble, and bring him to a place of praise.
David’s heart was a response to God - seek ye my face.

The Deliverance of the Faithful (11-14)

God gives direction (v 11)
God gives encouragement.
