Galatians 6:4–5 NKJV
4 But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. 5 For each one shall bear his own load.

1) Often times in our recovery we talk about the bad things we do; But what about the good things that we do?

Ephesians 2:10 NKJV
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
1 Peter 2:12 NKJV
12 having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.
We have all done things that we are not proud of.
what about the new life?
what about the works God has called you to?
if you are new to recovery, this is not about doing works to make up for our past this is about being of service.

2) Part of the foundation of our recovery.... The act of selfless service.

John 13:12–14 NKJV
12 So when He had washed their feet, taken His garments, and sat down again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you? 13 You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
Matthew 20:28 NKJV
28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
In our addiction we were all about us…
in service we get out of ourselves and to realize that we are a part of a much bigger people. the Church, the kingdom of God.
when we get out of ourself we are allowed to get some perspective on myself.
