“With one accord” — Greek word (homothymadon) — The word denotes the inner unity of a group of people engaged in an externally similar action. It can thus be rendered “with one mind” or “unanimous,”
They were Constantly Conveying the Gospel of Jesus Christ — (Vs. 37-41)
They were Constantly Conveying the Gospel of Jesus Christ — (Vs. 37-41)
Acts 2:37 — Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Acts 2:40 — And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
Acts 3:12 — And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?
Acts 3:24 — Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.
Acts 4:1-2 — 1 And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them, 2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
Acts 4:4 — Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.
Romans 10:14-15,17 — 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
If you continue on reading there, they were taken into custody because they were preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ every chance they got.
Did they stop preaching once they were taken into custody?
Absolutely not!
At this point they begin preaching to their captors!
Listen this morning Church, if we want to be Contagious Christians, then wherever, whenever, whatever situation we find ourselves in, we ought to be ready to share the good news of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
If you’ll look over in Chapter 9, even when the Church was in the midst of persecution, it didn’t stop them from preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.
It just caused them to take it elsewhere!
Acts 8:1,4,5 — 1 And Saul was consenting unto his (Stephen’s) death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles. 4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word. Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
If we are going to be Contagious Christians, we must be constantly conveying the gospel of Jesus Christ!
When was the last time you shared Jesus with somebody?
In the day and time we live in there should be no excuses for not sharing Jesus!
One of the main reasons people don’t share Jesus more than they do is because they’re afraid someone will ask them questions that they can’t answer because they’re not well versed in the word of God which leads us to our next point...
They were Continually Considering and Concentrating on the Word of God — (Vs. 42a)

Psalm 19:7-10 — 7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever:(Isaiah 40:8) The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Isaiah 40:8 — The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: But the word of our God shall stand for ever.
Hebrews 4:12 — For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
But....the problem is, many Christians today are only feasting on the Word of God once or twice a week instead of on a daily basis and spiritually speaking, they are malnourished!
Which is one reason Christians don’t share the gospel of Jesus Christ like they ought to because they don’t know or understand the Word of God!
Paul dealt with this same sort of problem at the Church of Corinth. He said to them in...
1 Corinthians 3:2 — I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
Then the writer of Hebrews addressed the same situation in...
Hebrews 5:12–13 — 12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
1 Peter 2:2 — As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
2 Peter 3:18a — “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”
2 Timothy 2:15 — Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Acts 2:46-47 — 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
Hebrews 10:22–25 — 22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Acts 5:40–42 — 40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. 41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. 42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
