Walking with God and People

How to walk Well with God and People

Overcomer's Walk, They know how to walk.
We Care (everything we do we do in love)
We listen (we want to learn)
We observe (we learn by watching)
We engage ( we learn by getting involved)
We act ( we learn by doing)
Ask yourself these questions?
Who am I caring about?
Who am I listening to?
Who am I observing?
Who am I engaging with
What am I doing?

We Walk with Care

Ephesians 4:2 NKJV
with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love,
Love covers a multitude of sins. We must care! We must be humble and show empathy towards others. This is the Love of God for us.
We love our enemies
We love the ones that hate us
We refuse to allow bitterness into our hearts
If God went so far as to send His own son to suffer and die for every person. Who are we to refuse them love?
There are many who are choosing to live in rebellion. Those we entrust to the Lord!
We are the ones learning to love!

We Listen

Deuteronomy 5:33 NKJV
You shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.
Listening is helps us to live a conquering life!
When we listen we find God’s favor
When we listen we gain wisdom and understanding
When we listen we live a better life
What are we listening to?
Ephesians 4:4 NKJV
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling;
We should listen to God’s words of Hope!
There is only one hope!
We should listen for ourselves - Listening is about what God has called you and me to do! Our calling won’t be accomplished unless we have ears to hear!
How do we listen?
James 1:19 NKJV
So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;
Quickly, focused , promptly. Be ready to listen.
When you are listening don’t talk until you are done listening.
Open your mind and your heart. The act of listening is to receive information that is new, challenging that should result in changes to our lives. Listening is an act of openness.
It’s not all about you! Listening is an unselfish act! prioritize the speaker.
If the words hurt and make you angry slow it down. Don’t jump to anger immediately!
Listen to understand!
Proverbs 18:2 NKJV
A fool has no delight in understanding, But in expressing his own heart.
We should listen with joy! delight, interest. Words are a means to facilitate understanding. The word understanding means how you “see” something. Gaining new perspectives.
A fool is makes everything about himself.
Listening requires that you die to yourself.
A good listener will do these things -
Proverbs 2:1–5 NKJV
My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you, So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God.
Overcoming the daily battles and struggles we have with God and People require us to be good listeners.
Good listeners do these things:
Be open to listen
Treasure’s the words God speaks
Inclines his ear to wisdom
Applies his heart to understand
asks for discernment
Seeks understanding diligently
We need God and we need one another! We are all part of the same. One body.
Listen to learn the Heart of God
Listen to learn people.
Why are you the way you are? Why are other people the way they are?
And God will reveal Himself to you in ways you never knew Him!
Let’s pray!
