Walking with Jesus on the Road to Faith

Joh 1:35  The next day again John was standing with two of his disciples,(learners)

Joh 1:36  and he looked at Jesus   (Fixing his eyes intently upon him. Singling him out and regarding him with special attention. Contemplating him as the long-expected Messiah and Deliverer of the world.)  as he walked by and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God!" (vision)  What is your vision of Jesus? This is critical because faith must have an object

Joh 1:37  The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus. Even vision is a process that facilitates change. Read Philippians 3:7-10

Joh 1:38  Jesus turned  and saw them following and said to them, "What are you seeking?"   Have you ever been staring at someone intently and gotten caught? What was your reaction?

1. That Jesus regards the first inclinations of the soul to follow him. He “turned” toward these disciples, and he will incline his ear to all who begin to approach him for salvation.

2. Jesus is ready to hear their requests and to answer them.

3. Ministers of the gospel, and all other Christians, should be accessible, kind, and tender toward all who are inquiring the way to life. In conformity with their Master, they should be willing to aid all those who look to them for guidance and help in the great work of their salvation.  (Barnes Commentary)

(intention) Read Hebrews 11:1 answer the question prayerfully- “What am I hoping for?” And they said to him, "Rabbi" (which means Teacher), "where are you staying?"

Joh 1:39  He said to them, "Come and you will see." (means) John 14:6 says that “Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life …..” Hebrews 12:2 says that “He is the author and perfect0r or finisher of our faith” So they came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him.
