Hebrews 11:1–2 NIV
1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for.
substance, firmness, confidence, collection of documents establishing ownership, guarantee, proof
‘what is set or placed under’ any thing, a foundation,
Assurance - proof; proving, argument of disproof or refutation
It’s the place from which we argue against everything that exalts itself against the Word of God.
In juxtaposition of our faith will always stand the opposite of everything we are believing for. Seemingly always pressing in on us trying to usurp what God has said and is doing in our life. It’s in this moment we must yield God’s sword, “The word of God.” and drive back the accusations and proclamations of the enemy.
The temptation of Jesus - Stones to bread to relieve His own hunger, Jump from a pinnacle and rely on Angels to break His fall, Worship Satan in return for all the Kingdoms of the world.
Ephesians 2:8–9 NIV

20 But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.
Matthew 13:23 NIV
23 But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”
James 2:19 NKJV
