Heirs through Faith
!. The Heirship
The Specifics of this Heirship. v26 - Through Faith - not bought by us, not earned by us, not owed to us.
Introduction
- i need a story about being apart of the family - An adoption story
Verse 23 tells us that before faith came , we were kept under the law
Verse 25 tells us - but after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster
I. The Promise. v.26
todays text we see the verse starts out with the Conjunction word “FOR”
For - In favor of, with regard to, on behalf of or to the benefit of
You - pronoun used to refer to the person or people that the speaker is addressing.
This is key - Who was he addressing?
Jews? - No
Religious leaders? - No
Gentiles - Yes (just like you and I.)
Are - it’s a verb and verbs show action
All - inclusive, nothing left out or missed.
The - it points to a specific person place or thing
Children - heirs, kinship, belonging to someone
Of - preposition that is expressing the relationship between a part and a whole, expressing the relationship between a scale or measure and a value.
God - Theos - deity, supreme divinity, GOD
By - Through - moving in one side and out of the other side, so as to make a passage in
Faith - the act of believing, the basis for belief, confidence in what is believed
In - this use of the word is theologically significant when supraterrestrial localities are denoted, especially “the heavens”
Christ Jesus - Our Savior and Lord.
