12 years ago called to be the interim pastor. Jan 2010 called be Pastor.
Myles chairman of deacons. Could not have had a better one.
1 Timothy 3:8–10 NKJV
8 Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for money, 9 holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience. 10 But let these also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, being found blameless.
The word deacon GW diakonos: Servant. That was Myles.
He had Godly wisdom. I learned a lot from him. When he spoke, I listened.
He believed in taking care his pastor. Elab the first time I preached. Extra $100
After I became the Pastor I was working part time not making lot of money. Then I left my part time job to be at the church more.
Myles wanted to pay me more, but the church couldn’t. He had the church pay my cell phone bill. Then money to pay for my gas coming to church and making visits.
We made a lot of visits together. Gary Cellon. Jeff Sims.
He didn’t do things to impress me. But he did do things that impacted me.
Fruits of the spirit.
Galatians 5:22–23 NKJV
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
He loved his family.
He and Ms Jackie had special relationship
He Loved this church.
He loved Jesus.
Now he is with Jesus.
The moment Myles breathed his last breath, he was is heaven. He didn’t have to wait. He was with Jesus.
2 Corinthians 5:8 NKJV
8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
For Christian, a true follower of Jesus, death is the best thing to happen
Philippians 1:21 NKJV
21 For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
We may ask, why did a Godly man like this have Parkinsons? And have to live in an assisted living facility?
I may have the answer, but I do know that he was a shining light where ever he was
Now he is in heaven. And he would want you to be there too/
John 14:1–6 KJV 1900
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
