READ James 4:7-10

Tonight, I want to talk to you about humility. What does it look like daily to live humbly?

1. Submit to God and Draw Near to Him

Submit - recognize your weakness, stop fighting, and surrender to God as your authority.

2. Resist the Devil

Join in opposition toward your enemy.

Wield scripture

When the devil lies to you, proclaim the word of truth.

You can’t proclaim what you don’t know.

3. Cleanse Your Hands and Purify Your Heart

Some people call their sins a “mistake”.

Jesus didn’t die for mistakes. He died for sin.

Culture rejects personal responsibility.

How do we “humble ourselves before the Lord”?

Admit your sin and get rid of your pride.

The tax collector knew that his righteousness fell short. His only hope was God’s grace.

Jesus went low for us all.
