Big Idea:

Progression: Praise - > Truth of Who God is (His Word vs everything else) - > Waiting on the Lord.
Praise is (not just singing) but allowing God’s word to impact our heart so that it activates a proper response (like singing, waiting, trusting, surrendering, giving).

Intro:

Exegesis:

Ps. 33:3 - A new song. A fresh, ongoing, experience of praise based on an ever growing experience of God’s faithfulness, goodness, and love.
Ps. 33:6-9 - How awesome is God’s word?
Ps. 33:10-12 - Whose counsel (or word) are you trusting in? Because if it’s our own or others - and not God - that perspective will be limited and flawed.
I think of you all constantly. I’m invested in you. Bill, Lilys grandparents, Casalis, Howard and Kay.
Ps 33:13-15 - God’s perspective, which releases His word, is perfect. It activates His perfect counsel.
Ps. 33:18-19 - We’re gonna go thru some stuff! Anyone been going thru some stuff lately? Jesus promised this normal reality - Jn. 16:33. The question is, “Whose counsel (or word) do you run to when you go thru stuff?” Because your answer indicates who you are trusting to save you. When was the last time you asked God what you should do? Sometimes we say we trust God and then never talk to God.

Response:

All I need is one “Word!” Whatever I’m facing. If God says one word, everything changes. I’ll wait on that word. Not as a wish, but as hope.
