Me
Well that was fun wasn’t it? Thank you Rachael for that.
In 2013 my family flew to Africa for 5 weeks but I didn’t go - I think I made up some excuse about not liking to travel.
The truth is I was afraid of flying, so although it seemed to everyone else like I was free to go where ever I liked… in reality, I was actually very much restricted.
Hey, you are all family here so I will share a bit more with you...
At that time I was actually afraid of so many other things - I also had a fear of being sick, a fear of dying, losing my job and so many other things.
We
Like me perhaps you have have your own reasons for feeling bound up or restricted:
A past negative relationship or let down
Maybe a bad experience
Or possibly you have had your fair share of bad news so now you fear more bad news coming your way
Or maybe you just fear for your love ones
God
What ever it is, I want to testify to you that what the Bible says is true
36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
So I want to say to you even as you look forward to Freedom Day, know that there is one who is greater - there is one who has already paid a high price for your freedom and His name is Jesus.
You
Friends this same Jesus that freed from from:
the fear of sickness and death
the fear of difficult relationships
and even the fear failure and public speaking
Yes, that same Jesus wants to free you from anxiety (whether it is for yourself or your loved ones);
Jesus wants to free you from a fear of relationships;
Jesus wants to free you from any unforgiveness you may be holding on to
So - as we look forward to freedom day in October - remember that the real freedom day was 2000 years ago so if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
