Are You Living in Forgiveness?

Lots of people in our world only forgive people as long as they forgive me.

If your good to me ill be good to you.

If you do bad to me then ill do bad to you

Worldly Forgiveness is conditional-

The World has taught us to live in a state of Condition. - Ill be nice to you only if you are nice to me.

Have you noticed in our world today a lot of people are Anger, Upset, and Offended.

Bow to the American Flag don’t bow. — Black Lives Matter Vs. All Lives Matter.

Facebook drama --- Tik Tok videos are made to make fun of people.

B. If you don’t Agree with me then you are my enemy.

If you don’t support what I think then your evil or on the wrong team.

“If your not for me than your against me.” God says if I am for you who can be against you.

“If God is for us, who can be against us?”

THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS THAT GOD IS FOR YOU

Offense is happening everywhere. People are attacking other people at will.

- Said Something mean to you? - Said something Behind your back?

- Maybe someone do something to you?

What Keeps Us From Forgiving People That Have Hurt Us?

Words of Jesus - IN THE LAST DAYS BEFORE HE COMES BACK:

10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. - Matthew 24 :10-14 NIV

1. Many People will Fall Away From Their Faith In Christ

People will Betray - Back Stab One Another - Hate

When Hate Grows, the capacity to Love gets small. Like to Hate people more Loving people.

Wickedness Increases - Rebellion against God will increase. “Lawlessness”

As evil increases - the enemy is trying to rob people from ever loving anyone again.

But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

The person who continues to love despite the evil all around them will be saved.

The enemy uses hurts to keep us from loving people.

Have you seen how a turtle acts? Whenever they are afraid they go into their shell for protection.

Or even when a dog is afraid, the dog puts his tail between his legs and avoids everyone because they are afraid to

be close to anyone. Thinking they will get hurt.

Why do people treat me so bad? - SIN

HURT PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS HURT PEOPLE.

John 15:18 ESV

“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.

SINFUL PEOPLE WILL SIN AGAINST PEOPLE.

The Sin Against Me Can Produce Sin In Me If I Don’t Forgive.

- Bitterness, Anger, Revenge.

I Remember When I used to play dodgeball - Get who got me.

Pain begins to pushes us to inflict more pain. IF WE DO NOT FORGIVE.

Getting Punched, I would Punch back - Protect myself.

Emotional feelings Intensify - Someone Close To Us.

19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” n says the Lord. - ROMANS 12:19 NIV

AFFECTS OF NOT DEALING WITH HURT FROM PEOPLE CAN LEAD TO

- Never Trusting People or God - Anger - Hurtful words - Bitterness - Rage - Depression - Revenge - Isolation - Resentment - Sin.

Closing yourself off to people - LIKE THE TURTLE- SAFETY - PRISON

Pride - will keep you from admitting your true condition—Victim mentality.

Unforgiveness- keeps you in an internal prison. Holding onto resentment is like you drink poison and hoping that the other person is affected by your pain.

How do we handle this?

What does Gods Word tell us?

12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. — Matthew 6:12-15 NIV

Forgiveness is for me and for others.

We had a debt, a record of all the wrongs we have done. - JESUS BLOTTED OUT OUR SINS. - PERFECT SACRIFICE.

Believe in Jesus Christ and the shedded blood is the atonement for the forgiveness of sin.

1. The Message of Forgiveness is about Forgiving

IT IS NOT A DOING - SO I CAN GET - FORGIVING OTHERS SO GOD CAN FORGIVE ME.

IT IS THE VERTICAL THEN THE HORIZONTAL

The Message of Forgiveness That Comes From God is about Receiving The Forgiveness Of Our Sin Personally and then Becoming the Message and Displaying It to Others.

I Become A Living Message and Display to others what God has given me.

I forgive others because I have been forgiven.

“When you know how much you have been forgiven, you will beginning to know how much people need forgiveness.”

DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH YOU HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN?

- Gods word says He casted your sin in a Seas of forgetfulness.

STUDY IT

God wants to heal your hurt. Releasing the hurt and receive the healing that was done for with the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

There is a difference in trying to be a good christian and actually being a christian.

It is not about my effort, it is about what God has already done for you.

IF God has done it for you, He wants to do it for others.

I AM WHO HE SAYS I AM

Identity Is Found in what I receive from Gods Word.

Its About Becoming What I Have Received from God

ASK FOR A HUNDRED DOLLAR BILL -

I can’t give you money if I don’t have money. I can’t give you a car if I don’t have a car. - PHYSICAL STUFF

Same Principle - SPIRITUAL STUFF

I can’t give you forgiveness, until I have forgiveness. - Jesus is the Author of Forgiveness.

I CAN’T GIVE OUT WHAT I DON’THAVE

Do you have hurts from people in your life that God wants to heal?

2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. — 1 John 2:2 NIV

God not only died for my sin but for the sin of the whole world.

Jesus not only died for our sin but also the sin that is done against us.

God deals with the sin/mistakes NOT ME.

It is there choice to receive Christ Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

WE USE FILTERS ON OUR PHONES TO LOOK DIFFERENT.

GOD SEES US WITH A FILTER OF FORGIVENESS, RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHIRST

BUT DO WE SEE OTHERS THROUGH THAT SAME FILTER?

I saw all the devil’s traps set upon the earth, and I groaned and said: “Who do you think can pass through them?” And I heard a voice saying: “Humility.”

Jesus says :

43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbors and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, — Matthew 5:43-44 NIV

Love Your Enemies and Pray For Those Persecute You.

The Word Of God tells us to love our enemies.

The Bible tells us to pray for those who persecute you.

THIS SOUNDS HARD AND NOT NORMAL - IN THE WESTERN CULTURE.

BUT IN BIBLE DAYS THIS WAS A NORMAL WAY OF LIFE.

Hospitality and Entertaining others to eat was important. - SOME ENTERTAIN ANGELS DO THIS.

a. An Enemy was not allowed to die of hunger.

“if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; — Romans 12:20 NIV

They knew how deadly it was for a person to be alone in the dessert.

IT WAS A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH - when it came to food.

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;” — Psalm 23:5 NIV

b. Person came within one’s tent or home, he was absolutely safe under the protection of that family.

Jewish people believed they have Protection From God.

They were to Give Protection to Others.

THIS LEAD TO A TRADITION THAT CHURCHES HAVE CALLED “SANCTUARY”

Even if you were an enemy you were safe.

God loved you when you were Lost. - God desires to love lost people.

God desires to love on hurting people. - GOD DESIRES IT SO MUCH THAT HE MADE IT A PART OF YOUR HEALING.

Forgive those who hurt you.

Pray for those who persecute you.

THE WAY RECEIVE HEALING IS BY FORGIVING, LOVING, AND PRAYING FOR THOSE WHO HAVE HURT US.

Jesus Advocated for you when you where in your sin.

Are you an Advocating for others when they sin?
