On March 1st 1961, President Kennedy launched an initiative called the peace corps.
In a speech, he challenged the Americans of his generation to give up their lives in service to their country while serving around the globe.
We have been walking a very different path over the last few weeks, for we recognize a higher power than the president of the U.S.
Jn 16:33 - We find the purpose of peace is to overcome the world.
Jn 14:1-6 - We are told the first principle. “We are not left behind!”
Jn 14:15-18 - We are told the second principle. “We are not left alone!”
These principles can do that which President Kennedy could not even dream.
Ex: they can heal the broken hearted…He is able!

It is a compulsive word (v. 22-23a)

Judas’ Question
Jesus Condition
EX: USS Moniter and the creation of the gun turret.
- Range of meaning in keeping

It is a creative word (v. 23b)

When the words of Christ have been kept and the prove of one’s love for Christ are on display, there is a creative work completed on the part of God!
2 Corinthians 5:19 KJV 1900
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
EX: Clara and Ryan Season 12 contestants of Married at First Sight.

It is a condemning word (v. 24)

NPR report August 26th on the collapse of the Miami condominium which killed 98 people had this statement in it by Dawn Lehman a professor of structural engineering at the University of Washington
“The corrosion on the bottom of that column is astronomical. The amount of corrosion was obvious and should have been documented over the 40 years of inspection.”

It is a comforting word (vs. 25-26)

Ex: Heidy has a bad memory
I have a selective memory

Conclusion: The question is not how current is the Word.

It is a compulsive Word!
It is a creative Word!
It is a condemning Word!
It is a comforting Word!
The question is how much of the peace of God have you missed because you have not stayed current in the Word!
