POWER IN PRESCENCE

13 Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 14 The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

1. FEAR GOD

Exodus 14:13a, “Stand firm and you will see...”

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge,

but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Start with GOD—the first step in learning is bowing down to GOD;

only fools thumb their noses at such wisdom and learning.

2. SEE THE FATHER

Exodus 14:13b, “you will see the deliverer...”

4–5  Every God-begotten person conquers the world’s ways. The conquering power that brings the world to its knees is our faith. The person who wins out over the world’s ways is simply the one who believes Jesus is the Son of God.

3. FAITH IN THE DELIVERER

Exodus 14:13c, “the deliverance the Lord will bring you today.”

6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

4. FORGET THE OTHER EYES

Exodus 14:13d, “The Egyptians you see today will never see again.”

9 For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.

Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. 5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,

“Never will I leave you;

never will I forsake you.”

5. GOD FIGHTS OUR BATTLES

Exodus 14:13e, “The LORD will fight for you”

31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

6. BE STILL

Exodus 14:13f, “you need only to be still.”

But I have calmed and quieted myself,

I am like a weaned child with its mother;

like a weaned child I am content.

I’ve kept my feet on the ground,

I’ve cultivated a quiet heart.

Like a baby content in its mother’s arms,

my soul is a baby content.
