Scripture Reading
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
What is the cause of spiritual instability?
What is the cause of spiritual instability?
Anxiousness is the cause of spiritual instability.
People focus the most on things they shouldn’t focus on.
People focus the least on things they should focus on the most.
Many people focus on things they want to happen rather than whats happening in front of there eyes.
In other words the way people think is one of their biggest obstacles.
We have a new religion sweeping the country and the world known as mental health.
One of Satan’s goals and greatest deceptions is to get people to worry, consider, and think the wrong things.
The New Testament is so focused on teaching the Church to think the right things so that we will do the right things.
Being anxious and thinking about the things we cannot control, the unknown, and our own will will cause us to think the wrong things and do the wrong things.
When we search for outcomes other than God’s Word we build our faith on the wrong things.
“So as a man thinketh so is he.”
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
“Eat and drink!” he says to you,
But his heart is not with you.
We have come to a dangerous point in society and the Church where people no longer want to think but want to be told to get rid of all anxieties.
Paul said,
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
So if we hear the wrong thing which typically comes from disunity, selfishness, selfish ambition, and anxiousness.
Garbage in and Garbage out
Wrong thinking, wrong actions!
Wrong thinking leads to spiritual instability!
Spiritual instability leads to hatred, division, and anxiousness.
God’s Word is the key to spiritual instability!
The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;
The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
Spiritual stability comes from the Word of god.
God Does Not Command Us to Worry
“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;
and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

True - consistent with fact or reality
We live in a world where lies, sensationalism, and fear are the order of the day.
I hear last night people love a great story rather than the truth.
Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. As it is written:
“That You may be justified in Your words,
And may overcome when You are judged.”
