Last weeks readings in John were so great with some memorable verses
In 9, the man born blind, and what Jesus did for him
One thing I know, I was blind, but now I see
In 10, the Good Shepherd discourse, Jesus is the Good Shepherd and His sheep know His voice
In 11, we have the death of Lazarus, and Jesus bringing him back to life
I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me, though he die, yet shall live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.”
Then in chapter 12, we go from Jesus being anointed to the triumphal entry, with His death looming Jesus talks of sacrificing His life for others.
He then says, whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.
Which takes us to chapter 13, such a powerful scene we are given.
This is the Last Supper, the last meal pre-resurrection Jesus will have with His disciples before He is betrayed, arrested, beaten, whipped, crucified and killed.
