Last week, we looked at Jesus’ favorite term in connection with calling others to follow Him.
“Follow Me”
It is an acknowledging call.
It is an abandoning call.
It is a call to accompany.
It is a call to activity.
We left off last Wednesday asking ourselves this question: “In light of Christ’s call to follow, am I following Him?”
This week, we are going to continue on the trail of Christ’s call.
I mentioned this last week, but Christ’s second most used phrase when calling people is “come after me.”
It seems the phrase “Follow me” was a personal call, while “come after me” is almost always used publicly.
Also, “follow me” is a call to service where “come after me is always associated with the cross.”
