Can you hear me?
Good evening, everyone?
Hey Victoria.
Are you sitting over there somewhere?
Can I borrow your Desire of Ages that you just one?
I'll just need it tonight if that's.
All right.
Did you guys have a good day?
Oh, you guys are just embarrassing.
Did you have a good day?
Oh, thank you so much.
Are you happy that you want on a scale of 1 to 10? How happy are you at 10?
All right.
Well, I have a lot that I want to stay the night.
Let me just say very briefly by a few things, by way of introduction.
They're going to get right into our talk tonight, which I'm super excited about that.
Before we get, this is kind of in the way.
We move this back here.
I know that's blocking the screen or not.
Okay.
So first of all tomorrow at 11 a.m., I'm speaking for convocation online.
They all that, right?
So it will be a part of what we're doing.
In our series titled the Gap and I ate lunch today or dinner today at Josephine Kristina's home and I was describing to Joseph Cruz up.
By the way.
The food was incredible.
If you ever get invited to their house, the answer is.
Yes, you cancel, whatever you're doing.
Okay, thank you for that Christine.
It was great.
So I was telling him that I was out of wrestling with what presentation due tomorrow morning versus which one to do tomorrow evening because I really want to have a maximal audience for both of them.
So what what I finally decided was the presentation that will be tomorrow morning at 11 on the convocation will be a little bit of a, a theological Deep dive.
And I don't want that to scare anybody away, like all.
I'm not a Theo major or whatever what we're going to do.
So to speak is lift up the hood of the car and just take a look underneath the sort of incredible Theology of of how it is.
That Jesus becomes the one that fills the Gap.
And the reason we're going to do that is that tomorrow evening?
I want as many people as possible to be here for that presentation and I want it to be live cuz otherwise I'll just be staring at a computer and we're going to be talkin in-depth tomorrow night about the ideas, the twin ideas of identity and authenticity.
And I've been reading a number of books about this lately and just as a little bonus, I'll throw in tomorrow night as well as it'll fit in nicely.
I think to the presentation, a little five to ten minutes section on tips for preparing to be married, right?
So some pre-marriage tips that will fit in really nicely in the presentation.
So I wanted to have an audience for that one, and then on Friday night, we're having a double session, which will be at 6. Eight.
I think that right 6 at 8 Joseph.
Okay.
Okay, one more thing.
Victoria, one her Desire of Ages and conflict, beautiful.
I reached out to the people that are responsible for creating and printing all of these amazing books.
It's a design studio, run by two young Adventist, both of them.
I think graduates of Andrews University.
Sorry about that.
I'm sure that someone has a great graphic design program as well.
But anyway, they created these books because they had a real desire to sort of modernize and update.
The incredible writings of Ellen, White, particularly in the conflict of the age of series, which is the five volume series that begins with Patriarchs and Prophets and prophetess and Kings than the Desire of Ages, which is about the life of Jesus, which will be talking about today.
In fact, the presentation.
I'm going to give tonight as a direct result of something from this book and I'll tell you about that, just a bit then Acts of the Apostles.
And finally, the great controversy, which is the book that I read that I received in the vegetarian restaurant last night, anyway, so they have Pre-order the whole bunch of a originally printed.
Mm.
He sets.
They didn't know if they would sell, they sold out happily.
And so they decided to print two thousand, more sets that are presently somewhere on the Atlantic Ocean from Germany.
On their way over here.
They normally sell for two hundred bucks that come in two different colors.
They have this, what we called the sanctuary colors that you'll notice that the outside is blue, and then purple.
And then the middle is red.
The Desire of Ages.
This is sort of graphic depiction of what's called a chiastic structure.
Sort of an ABC, be a structure.
That's the sanctuary colors.
Then they also have the grayscale color set.
Now.
I reached out to Mark and I said, Mark, there's no way that most college students going to be able to afford two hundred bucks, but he's like hand-printed Boutique books.
So he said, okay, here's what we'll do.
We'll drop the price down to $150.
I said, that's still pretty expensive.
What if I could get a donor that would subsidize the sets and we could sell them for a hundred bucks and you guys get your 150 cuz hundred dollars actually below their cost.
So what I did is I reached out to a couple friends of mine and said, look, I'm going to be at Southern Adventist University if possible.
I want to get as many sets of these books into the hands of the young people but I need to make it as inexpensive as possible when you subsidize this and they were like absolutely.
So we currently have fun and I have no idea.
If there's five people are going to do this or 500 people that are going to do this, but we currently have subsidized donations for two hundred sets, Okay, so it's kind of a first-come-first-serve one set her.
So if you're interested in getting a set of these you go to types and symbols.
Store types of symbols.
Store, you just click and you can go to select either the sanctuary colors that are the grayscale color set.
And then you just when you check out and please don't spread the you know, this is like for a southern thing, so don't call your mom or your dad or whatever.
You just type in the code SAU Southern Adventist University week of prayer, and you get a hundred bucks.
So, if that's something that you're interested in, we would absolutely love to get as many copies of the conflict.
Beautiful, into the hands of young people.
My son.
My oldest son, Landon who's in here somewhere, by the way, thank you for all of you that came up to him last night and encourage him to come to Southern.
He's, he's now, I think he's having a real existential crisis.
So anyway, keep praying for him.
But anyway, he has been telling me that he's reading through Patriarchs and Prophets right now, and he's incredible.
And it just is so amazing to me because I read Patriarchs and Prophets.
When I was 23 years old, at the University of Wyoming.
It was the book.
I read immediately after the great controversy changed my life.
It was really my introduction to biblical understanding and Theology.
And so now, to have my own son reading to this book and talking about how it's changing his life and how we just absolutely loved.
It was all what did you think of this chapter?
I love that line.
It just so awesome.
