Psalm 40

Delighting in His Will (vs8)

Our heart’s desire should be for God’s will alone.

God has shown us how wonderful His will is (Revelation 4:11, Hebrews 10:10).

Understanding the greatness of God’s will helps us do it.

We have every reason to get excited about God’s perfect will.

Trust His Will (vs4)

If we trust Him, we will be patient (vs1-2).

Faith means we seek God’s will without any demands or timetables.

Anticipating God’s will being done changes our outlook on the future (vs11).

We can have confidence that we will be blessed (vs4).

Tell of His Will

When we are excited about something, we naturally want to talk about it.

Singing has always been a part of the life of God’s people.

We should be bursting to tell of what God has done (v9-10).

Verse 16 should be the message of our lives.
