Creating a Culture of Blessing 3
Here at Mokuaikaua we are about Creating a Culture of Blessing.
We believe this is God’s mission for our church.
201 years ago a group of missionaries arrived here in Kailua Kona in response to the invitation and prayers of two young men from Hawaii, Henry Opukahai’a and Thomas Hopu.
On April 4 1820, our beloved church Mokuaikaua was founded, Rev Asa Thurston after meeting with the King Kamehameha, and the Queen Regent Kaahumanu, they gave them permission to start churches and schools, King Kamehameha the second Liho-Liho gave his house and canoe house to be the first church and school.
The missionaries came to Hawaii to fulfill the great commission to preach the gospel, baptize them, and disciple them to obey everything Jesus thought us.
Mokuaikaua is committed to carry out this inheritance, April 1820 also marked the beginning of one of the greatest revivals in history, 97% of the population of Hawaii came to Christ, by 1840 Hawaii had the largest church in the world, Haili church in Hilo, a church with 11thousand members.
The aim of a culture of blessing, is to reach out others is to be a blessing not only to our congregation but to all who come across our path.
This morning I would like to share about God’s Aloha,
Our prayer is that you will have a fresh revelation of the Love of God for you, is the single revelation that has led millions of souls into the presence of God
God’s Aloha
How is the love of God demonstrated to us? And others?

1 God’s love, the Agape love of God

The unchanging, unending, unconditional, love of God.
He demonstrated to us by giving His only son.
Joh 3:16 "For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.
Joh 3:17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge and condemn the world [that is, to initiate the final judgment of the world], but that the world might be saved through Him.
We need a fresh revelation of God’s love in action, almost every Christian knows John 3:16 by memory
The verse is one-sentence summary of the gospel. The problem is most people don’t understand the enormous sacrifice made by our Heavenly Father. We were enemies of God, sentenced to hell, and our Heavenly Father loved us while we were sinners, unrepented, and gave us His son, His only son, to take our sins our iniquities our curses upon Himself to die our death.
Rom 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
We are living in a very exciting time in history, 2020 was the year when we were to celebrate our 200th year anniversary, and by faith enter the beginning of a fresh outpouring of the Spirit of God. For years we prayed for a great revival. God did not forget our prayers and steps of faith, I believe our Heavenly Father allowed this attach from the enemy, Covid 19 to come over the world, to prepare us, to unite us, to expose our hearts to ourselves and to each other.
Revival and an outpouring of the Spirit of God will not happen until people are taking God’s word and ways seriously, unity is the goal.
Reading the word of God, prayer and worship must be part of our lives on a daily basis.
God’s aloha is also demonstrated

2 By Loving one another

Joh 13:34 I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too are to love one another.
During the past year and half of covid19, so many messages and rules came out, that have created division among families, neighbors and churches. Most of it is about the vaccine, who should be vaccinated?
Politics and the media have play so much with it, that is very hard to know who is telling the truth.
If you are vaccinated you are protected, you wont die. If you are not vaccinated you are endangering other people if you are vaccinated you are protecting your elderly parents and your children, now we know that all these statements are lies.
vaccinated or not you can transmit the virus the vaccine will protect some of us but also can kill you, vaccinated or not you may die. Whatever is your personal choice let the Spirit of God guide you.
I’m just learning with you, I had covid and now I’m vaccinated, but whatever your view is on the vaccine don’t let this divide you, love as Jesus loves you.
I just got a book from Francis Chan called Until Unity, is a great book reminding us that our unity with one another, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, was Jesus last prayer.
Joh 17:20 "I do not pray for these alone [it is not for their sake only that I make this request], but also for [all] those who [will ever] believe and trust in Me through their message,
Joh 17:21 that they all may be one; just as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe [without any doubt] that You sent Me.
We need to be able to hear each other and love them even if they have a different opinion.
The way we love and talk about each other, will tell the world that we are Jesus disciples
Joh 13:35 By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you have love and unselfish concern for one another."

3 By Loving our enemies

How do we love those who are hard to love? they are not friendly, they will not say thank you when you are good to them, and they are wicked in their ways.
Luk 6:35 But love [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for] your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; for your reward will be great (rich, abundant), and you will be sons of the Most High; because He Himself is kind and gracious and good to the ungrateful and the wicked.
This is a choice that we need to make in our hearts, before we walk out of the house, people can be very selfish, in the way they drive, for example always wanting to be first not really caring if is their turn or not.
Ex This past week someone push me into the incoming traffic passing me on my left just because he felt entitled to it. People can be very unkind in their responses, are you going to take the offense or love them.
Selfishness will increase around the world, more entitled people will come your way, lovers of themselves.
2Ti 3:1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:
2Ti 3:2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Ti 3:3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,
2Ti 3:4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
2Ti 3:5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
Don’t fellowship with them, don’t become like them, but love them
i remember years ago working at half way home for boys under 18.
I understand this is not an easy task for anyone, we need God’s aloha.
Is demonstrated, in Jesus, by us loving one another, by loving our enemies.
begins when we make Jesus the Lord of our lives.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Joh 3:16 To receive Jesus we need to accept Him as God’s son,
we need to repent from our sins and a life of selfishness,
ask Him to be your Lord and savior, not that we deserve it, but is a gift from God.
If this is your desire today, please repeat this prayer after me? Heavenly Father I’m sinner, I’m sorry for my sins, I repent of my sins I’m willing to turn away from my sins. I receive Christ as my savior, I confess Him as Lord And from this moment on, I want to follow and serve Him, in the fellowship of His church, In Jesus name, Amen!
1Co 11:23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread;
1Co 11:24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me."
1Co 11:25 In the same manner Healso took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me."
1Co 11:26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes.
1Co 11:27 Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
Heb 9:14 dead works, acts, sins
E mau aku ka loko maika’i o ka Haku, Iesu Kristo; me ke aloha a ke Akua, a me ka launa pu ‘ana mai o ka Uhane Hemolele ia ‘olua, a me makou apau. Amene.
