More than Conquerers Keep their eyes focused on Jesus!

We Observe (we learn from what we see)

The best way to learn is to hear, see and feel. When we only hear we tend to forget, when we hear and see we learn better. When we hear see and feel(experience with our senses) (touch, taste or smell) we have a greater chance to retain the information.
Many studies prove that we gain understanding and build our beliefs based on what we see more than what we hear. We believe our eyes more than we believe what we hear. That is why faith is so difficult. It requires us to believe words before we “see” anything.
Knowing that our eyes influence us more than the words around us we should be careful about what we are observing, focusing on.
You can tell a child how to behave with your words, but what they are really listening to is your actions. What they see in you! How you make them feel.
This is very important because we live in a world filled with darkness. There is plenty of evil to occupy us. The things we put before our eyes, the lenses we use to see the world influence us directly and our walk with God can suffer greatly because of our eyes.

Have Eyes Only For God!

Luke 11:34 NKJV
The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness.
Luke 11:34 (The Message)
Your eye is a lamp, lighting up your whole body. If you live wide-eyed in wonder and belief, your body fills up with light. If you live squinty-eyed in greed and distrust, your body is a dank cellar.
The Lamp, which shines, reflects light does so to your whole body! What you are observing affects your whole body! Have you every seen something with your eyes and your whole body has an immediate response? Because the light coming through your eyes affects your whole body! If your eyes are turned to darkness, then your whole body will respond to darkness and fear, suspicion, evil will fill you up!
Jesus was speaking to the Pharisees! Those who believed they were the righteous ones!
What are your eyes focused on? There are many things distracting us from keeping focused on Jesus!
Are your eyes focused on distracting things? Busyness?
Luke 10:40–42 (NKJV)
But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”
And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
Distractions will cause you to be worried and troubled!
Only one thing is needed… This one thing no one can take away from you! Keep your eyes on Jesus! Fill yourself up with with His face, His presence!

How To Keep Our Eyes On Jesus?

There is nothing like gazing into the face of God! There is a depth of knowledge and understanding from just a moment in His Holy presence!
Diligently Seek God! Make time for God!
Psalm 80:7 NKJV
Restore us, O God of hosts; Cause Your face to shine, And we shall be saved!
Psalm 97:5 NKJV
The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the Lord, At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
There is a humility that builds in us when we spend time in the presence of God!
Revelation 4:8 NKJV
The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!”

Look To God In and Through People

Are your eyes focused on other peoples flaws, errs, or foolishness? Or do you see God at work?
Matthew 7:3–5 NKJV
And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
Observing other people’s faults and shortcomings can be very distracting. We watch people online all the time, we observe their lives, their comments, we laugh we criticize and we can easily feel better about ourselves thanking God we are not like “them”
The truth is that none of us are really “that” good. The bible says!
Romans 3:23 NKJV
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 3:10 NKJV
As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one;
Not even Jesus allowed them to call Him good.... wow...
Luke 18:19 NKJV
So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.

How to See God in people

Ephesians 4:6 NKJV
one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Remember He made us all! Different but the same!
God is IN ALL!! Through ALL!!
Matthew 25:40–45 (NKJV)
And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’
“Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’
Ask God for Help!
Ephesians 1:18 NKJV
the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
2 Corinthians 4:18 NKJV
while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
We Observe God’s work.
We observe God working in people
There is only ONE God! So He is the only one worthy of our time!
People are Precious in the eyes of the ONE True God there for they should be precious to us!
God uses everyone of you! Yes even you!
and yes even him...
