Father God, we are so grateful that you have all this to be a part of a mission that you invite us into what you are doing. We pray Lord that you would give us boldness to respond to an invitation will give you more chances to talk to each other. And so I'll have you do enjoy talking to each other this morning. You are allowed to talk to each other. Some more. So like I said, in the beginning, my name is Matt. I'm one of the leaders here. Hope City. It's my privilege to get to lead us this morning. Remember, I'm that Q&A is open throughout the morning. So if anything we say or anything you here, this morning raises questions, we would love to hear those questions and we don't have to respond to them. Would do that on social media during the week. So do you ask away slider.com the way to do that? Now? We exist to multiply disciples. I don't know if you've heard that phrase at all before I hope City. I kind of hope you have, but it's a good compact summary of what we're about as our reason for being there. Different opinions on the right name for this, some gory School in a vision. Some people call it a mission. Some people call it a go, some people call it, the main thing, which is the wave of waiting calling is something, but they're still calling it. Something it really doesn't matter. I'm all purpose Argo. The important thing is that we're clear on what it is. We're Kara's leaders, but we're also clear as a church on what we're here for and what we're about what we're trying to do. So this Sunday is Vision Sunday. I'm going to take a break, my normal practice of walking through the Bible, bit by bed. Instead going to take most of our time together to talk about what we're here for. What we're trying to do to explore what this phrase means we exist. So you multiply disciples why it's so important and how we're going to go after it as a church. We try and do this just once a year. So this is your first time with us. It's not morning,. See another week as well because they are quite different. Why do we do this? Because in the busyness of life in the difficulties in the challenges that it throws at us, it is really easy to lose sight of where were his. I mean, imagine this imagine you're on. This is Mount Ranier. We used to live out for a while in the Pacific Northwest and it's a beautiful beautiful.

Imagine you going to try and climb that mountain. You can see it clearly on the horizon from miles and miles away. But then on the way to see up ahead, there's that forest and you have to go through that Forest after a while. And those words. Will, you can always see the pink where the path is long. Where, sometimes, it's hard and difficult. It's easy just a fool in front of the other, just to keep going. Wherever you were going particularly when the going gets tough from the forest is thick. And it's hard to know what the next step is. We talked to take her lines off of the peak of the destination. We start putting them on our feet, the next foot step in front of us. And the problem with that is, it's really easy. It's really easy to get lost to find yourself going round and round in circles or, or just taken slightly longer steps on the right side than the left and drifting further and further. And further away from where you thought, you were headed going to a different place. Altogether that. We could climb a tree and take a look around and see. That's where we were going. That's the reason. And we can get walking again. And that's what we're going to do today, where if you're exploring faith. If you're just visiting with us will disappear under the covers. It's a peek behind the scenes or there's no secrets about what we're trying to do. This is the demonstration of what we're trying to do and why and if you're a regular here, I'm hoping together Will Come Away With A Renewed Clarity around what we're trying to do and with a better understanding of how we're going to get there this morning for a series of conversations because you don't want to hear me talk for that long. I'm with key leaders in the church. But first, I'm going to give you a quick overview so you can't get rid of me. Yes. Let's start the beginning. Okay? And 1/2 years old is pretty close to zero real Jesus started two thousand years ago with Please, where is he said, go and make disciples of all Nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, and of the son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything. I have commanded that Saint Matthew's gospel, 28 18 to 20 hours this charge by the key thing. He tells me to do is to go and make disciples. That's the thing. They're meant to be about, that's the big thing. There's a side was a Christian e word. What does disciple mean? Well, that's a that's a good question. Is when we can get a bit vague about it means pupil Amin's. Apprentice. It means learn or someone is a disciple of yours. If they're trying to learn to live like you do, if they're trying to become like you, that's what it means to be a disciple of somebody who intends to follow their leaders, teaching, you intend to come to live in their teachers actions, to become like them. And that is what we're about. You want to see more and more people become more and more like Jesus inside of a good thing. I even if you don't believe me, This stuff is a good thing for the world because Jesus teaches us how to live a life that is good. How to bless the world around us and how to do what is right. Now that's what we're about 1 people to share that. We took at the beginning of our Gatherings each week about wanting people to share the hope that we have in Jesus Nest. I hope we sung about the Allen. Let us through what is a hope of rescue rescue. It's a hope of Rescue out of the Brokenness of ourselves. And this world. It's a hope of being loved by and connected to God himself. Is I hope you like even beyond death and you life. Now, I want to see more people who intend to follow Jesus and become more like him in response to hear. Jesus says, I have some house for us, the means by which we make disciples. He talks about baptizing and teaching now baptism, is this sign Jesus gives us to declare that work in? I express it so much of the Christian faith in the Christian home. If you think if I would have pictures, there's this washing clean that's in baptism with water. Watching clean of all the wrongs. We've done. That Jesus has taken in our place. And then of this is sharing in Jesus's death, coming down under the water, went down into the grave and then you, like, coming out of the wheelchair, like, Jesus came up and answer the grave. And when we identify wood to use like that in baptism, what it does, is it did joined us to his people, what he describes, as his body. He speaks of us as here on Earth to baptist, means we belong in Jesus's family, in Jesus's church. And then the second party talks back here, teaching them to obey, everything. I have commanded. It's not just teaching so we can know self and passed some sort have any test, you know, you do your relation really hard and you get to those pearly gates. And Peter says, what was Romans 5 verse 3 in? You get a chance when you're in that does this know, the sort teaching? The Jesus speaking about hear, Jesus speaking about teaching them to obey. The teaching, which results in change teaching, which means we're becoming more like Jesus teaching, which ultimately will see us everything that he's commanded to us as we're fully and finally renewed through Resurrection. But even now, this teaching begins to change our lives to Jesus. As we make disciples here, really through belonging for baptism, bologna, and Jesus, family. And through be coming through teaching people to obey becoming more like Jesus, but there's, there's another in here to We Make Disciples by going, A girl with me just like. Jesus says, or more literally says, as you were going. As you going make disciples. So we talked about having an everyone everywhere every day Mission. That's why we like to talk about as a church of mission where everyone who calls himself a follower of Jesus. It's a par this call to make disciples where that's our mission, every where we find ourselves. So at home, with our neighbors, with our family, with our friends and our work. Everywhere alarm to take us, as we are going. And we think the key to making that a reality, rather than just a tagline is understanding that, it's an everyday thing. It can be an everyday thing. She's something a long journey for people to come to believe in Jesus in our world today. And that means, small steps. We take them a little closer can be significant. They can match her. There are everyday things we can do, which can help people become closer to Jesus. That are part of making disciples as we go now. Here, we use This Acronym blast. You see those first letters there. I'll begin with prayer. Listen, eat, serve share just to remind us of some of the things we can do some of the small things we can do that. Help people move on in there. During they give us some ideas to get started and we can begin with Sarah because listen to where people on find out more. We can eat with them to spend time casually and get deeper connected. We can serve them and pour on our lives for them showing them. What difference Jesus is made to us and that we can share what he's done. In our life, what he's doing in our world, how God? I'm still acts as we talked to them a few weeks back. The last thing we hang our hats on isn't spelled that right here, but it's implicit in Jesus's recipe. If you make disciples as you were going by baptizing them and that teaching them, you know, what will happen if you teach them to obey, everything Jesus commanded, will they also are going to go and make disciples teaching the best if you just spelled it out for us to pick up the command and some multiplication is built into this. So that's why we say we exist to multiply disciples to make life. Was he will make disciples. That's our last big chunk of the visions of church committed to multiplication at every level so we can keep on making disciples make disciples you make disciples and rabidly what we could possibly do as just one Church. Hope City. That's what we invest in training. That's why we have a focus on participation. That's why we invite people to step further and further into Leadership of obsidian. That's why we're committed to being a church. That plants churches. He will plan churches. She will plan churches. That is what we're about we exist to multiply disciples in the four big chunks of how we pursue that talks about Blastoise as you were going Mission and long. This baptizing it coming into a family, has become teaching them to obey everything. I have commanded becoming more like Jesus and multiplying where we see more and more people. Join. This Mission. I'm going to take a little time now to explore each of these in the next few minutes. I know this is like an unusual structure, but it's going to be okay. And it's not all me talkin. So, let's start with the first step and blessing shumba. What it really means is that she helps us keep the focus on advancing the mission in this area of having everyone. Reach Out. The Carolyn. Can you tell me why is this blessed thing important? Do you need a microphone that before you can do that? Can you tell us why? This blessed thing is important, are there?

We were first took a look at our current contemporary cultural context at to understand how it is that people come to face these days a month what we see in at the store.

At. He's a great listener. I need of some tastic questions. He spent a lot of time eating with people, and he's going to serve at heart and for the people around him, and he's great at sharing at stories with his stories of other people's lives and important relationships are and each one of us listing online at has a really unique special relationship. So maybe at last us more about sending people are just visual field in Africa or India or China or wherever it's more about the part. That each of us play in the unique set of relationships that God has placed around our So I think not the first thing at the second thing is if it's about all of us where old participating so relationships were old participating. Everybody's on the pitch for this at, nobody's on the sidelines, are on the bench at. We are old in. There are participating the cultural context thinking is just her long and long and long and slow our journey. This is in the UK that we currently call home. So we have to be prepared to persevere and encourage us to do that at the reasons. I think, but less important. So that's kind of the do the theory behind a bit about the practice. You got any stories. You can tell us of where this becomes real would actually looks like those two things. I want to do a third some days. I'm sorry, the third Sunday in the evening. We spent a little time thinking about the last we're looking at what you told us in the recent survey and testimonies and tools that help us at get better at this cuz ever be scared of doing it. I'm terrified of doing it at. So we all need to practice and we all needs at reminder, the tools we can use them but there's two at reading of the stories I've heard was just illustrate how important and the relationships are. Nobody else could have done this except the two people who were involved in. The first thing we do is Waltz a little video of Tim Roose telling a story about something. He took the summer.

And so we played this game called 9 square and like you hit this kind of oil around and it's really fun and everybody enjoys. It it helped me to invite my friend because we were just playing it. And I said that I had found out how to play this on an Su they come and see me, but I said everybody was another one and he asked if he could come so I sent a code.

Boy, started by praying and then we were actual sizing together. And then I shut my story.

Well, you could pray that my friend would stop following Christ and we would pray that he would come onto another day, come.

People and Jesus and thinking the loveliest way about high, they can take something from school that kids love to do anything together. I am not give them an opportunity to share something about their faith. The Second Story. I'd like to share with you is at the other end of the spectrum. At we heard a lovely story about a conversation that Alma hot over the summer. She was having at coffee with a couple of friends and one of them at times her and said,, you're a Christian and the girl that you believe in children, die and horrible things happened in the world. I don't know, very, very wise. He said, I don't know how to answer that question, but I can't tell you how I became a Christian. I just love these stories to get emotional when I hear them. I can't tell you how I've become a Christian.

Is an amazing thing at turn around a situation like that, but could you potentially of being at quite tricky to discuss and just to share her story about how she came to Faith In Jesus. And none of us could have spoken to Elmo's friend. None of us could have played with Tim's, and charms, and Industry since that game. So these are examples of heart. Each of us at have just a unique set of relationships and would go beyond the pitch, and I'm prepared to take these steps to help people not ready to face. That's really encouraging stories. And there's so many more of those stories to. I think one of the things being charged with me is how much we are living this out already. So one last thing Carolyn and we have to go short. Can you give me one? You think you've been thinking about for the year ahead. Spook em, over the summer. It's been really, really helpful and one of the things that's really, really stood out for me. And it has been the whole concept of emerging your universe's. So if I think Friendship groups and Sam and I are in at we might be the only Christians and that gives em all of our friends. Ample scope to think great for something,, but none of the rest of us, believe that. So if I merge my universe is, if I start inviting my Christian Friends, Along 2, at things at church, are they see the lives of all the Christians, YouTube? Fantastic people doing ordinary things like them through life and work out how we make sense of the world Ryan does. Then there's a whole people's ability thing that they suddenly, ignore that they can ignore. It is just two of us. I'm in our whole friendship group at the tivon. They see lots and lots more people at. That makes it more difficult. So I've been challenged think about how I can actually change my lifestyle so that I have opportunities to merge my universes.

Next Saturday to learn how to make an eco-friendly cleaning products, but that's been such an easy off, then go apply friends. Coming. Some of them are Christians but sad too. And so, that's really easy things to do at. We might think about you. I mean, skip a stone on Ellen and at some of the musicians at we might think about this again this year. So there's all sorts of ways that we can at much are universes and just help at built that possibility that actually Christian. She's no for bunch of weirdos. Thank you, Carolyn soap, merge. Your universe is looking for that coming up this year. Now, before we move on, we going to take a minute to pray together about being a church. You live out this vision of sharing, Amar. Hope three small steps is going to come and lead us together in prayer now.

Thanks. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you for the encouragement. You've given us for the application of that the blasts. And I'm going to stay and thank you for Carolyn that she's been doing and sharing. And thank you for timing Alma have for their stories for that first. And then card payments for us all we need those encouragement, slugs. Look, like Carlos says, we're all pretty slow and getting getting a ride together with sharing the gospel, but you have given us a unique family and career opportunities, or just after you'd help us today. And I put them into practice Lord. So we can share the good news of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,. And and Thanks so much Sam. Thank you, Carolyn. That's are as you were going kind of mission that goes part 2 listing in a little bit. Now to the long side of things. Now, we're going to vacancy for a director to head up this. So if it's something close to your heart, if as we talked about it, you start getting the heebie-jeebies, then perhaps, this isn't something for you. I'd love to talk to you about Luke. One of our church leaders is going to help us with this one. This morning. Thanks leak for hand standing in in this area is a big thing. What should it look like and feel like to belong here. What should that actually be like to be a part of the whole city family.

Play me some noise so that I don't waffle song for an hour and a half. So you'll be glad to hear that. I like to think about this is to ask myself. If I had a major crisis in my life, would be the top five people that I would call if you are they and for me, genuinely 4.25 of his people would be home. Safe people, and for all of us, but we are our family are on a sink for me. And for lots of us, the key to belongings is for my, just say that starts a massive family, it sure. It's your nearest and dearest your closest not necessary.

Jewelry, or to where you've seen that sort of church and family be real. So I think maybe their names right? All right, so I can talk and that seems to finally get a hoop. Say make a specific example would be and just dance. If you don't know her, she's not from Scotland and the name is a slight give Abby. They are so her family live very far away. I am in, Latvia and my family are most clothes and I'm so upset, you really truly as our family with the. I really like that of work and in a few years ago and just have to move because of the massive job. Are we going offers of places to stay a week of meals? People that are laundry for a week and back in, to be honest. People just spoke to us and we're where we belong to, our family are, that's really cool story and we can tell you a lot more stories like that too. But what about the other end of the spectrum? We know that lots of people have begun being a part of Hope City in the last year. I don't feel like you're on the inside or in the family. If you feel like an outsider or you're stuck on the edge, what would you say to them? So I think one of the challenges for a growing family, is that now that she's basically impossible for any one person's year, two new land speed didn't have kind of meaningful deep relationships with every single other person that comes along, which is, which is great. And so if you feel on the fringes, a couple things first that, come regularly and welcoming and befriending and building relationships is something that we can we can all get involved and you don't need to be best friends with everyone. And but each of us can at least get alongside a couple of people. Or maybe Lots if you've got capacity for that sort of thing. You say in there. If, if somebody wishes that some dude reach out to them, right? They could be the person that looks and reached out to somebody else. And if you're feeling. We got inside. There's somebody sitting close by to feel similarly. So there is there's a little bit of your comfort zone, really. I'm trying to connect with people even if it's not, maybe you think it's maybe not your strong point. If you're feeling that someone else will be feeling that. And so the other thing is, if you do feel like, you don't defend, she's just speak to someone. Somebody who looks like they've been here for a while. Give him a key and you'll be up and running in, no time at all. Give me take you her. Thanks so much of belonging and being a family that cares. As I was thinking about the best way to do that. It struck me, that it makes great sense for us to you. Pray out loud together for this. Now, if this is not your thing, if that's just weird, it's cool. You just a sign and don't worry about at 12. We're glad you're here. But want me to do is put the sprayer up on screen. It's not too long. Have a quick read-through. So I'm not kind of liking you with anything. You don't want to pray and then if you're cool with that will pray this prayer together about being a family that welcomes people to move along.

Let's pray this together ready. Thank you that you have not just saved us but Curtis your children.

What you do things with no license? How many more months to see if I can find meaningful connections within the area transit? Help us to be honest and honorable allowing others to love and care for us to continue to Bear one another's burdens and enjoy together.

Pour out your love in our hearts so much that I overflowed the Lord's, one another. Thanks for praying that prayer. I want to see that realize now as we're talking about the joy. The love in the car, there's a sadness that comes with a family parting. It happens to. And this is the that the very last week that the Philpott family are going to be with us as they move back south. So we wanted to say just how much

What is the state just how much we enjoyed getting to know you and to acknowledge our sadness at parting and to pray for him, bless you as you had on your way, so I'm going to take a moment to pray for them just now.

Better. Thank you so much for our friends who have become our friends and not just our friends bar family. And that we thank you. That parting is sorry because it means we love and so we pray. You have blessed them. If they can go and that you grant them a new family that they would be United to you and deeply a part of a Lord, please go ahead of them. And open that door for Jesus is Take My Man. Family is coming and going right now. We know it's it's always been like that. I'm conscious. The owl is going to be overseas a bunch in the next few weeks as well. And I will be praying for you. Remembering, you family is a complicated thing, right? It's joy and sorrow, but it's good. Now that's a bunch of token from the front and a bunch of me, but just know a good. Is it to the person next to you? And I want to ask you if you can think of somewhere that you've seen this, either this place or this ballon aspect of our vision actually being lived out, or could you share how you think you could be a part of that being lived out more, maybe two minutes and I'll throw us back together. So over you. Let's go.

How fast is? When God Speak. Come together. Asthma.

In the ones. Sharing a call in line.

Close.......

Oh, how do you follow?

Owen Luigi.

Only the truly.

Dove God.

The more that I pour it out no more cheap thrills.

Not bad at all.

Come down.

And have nots.

Well, I'm going to give you another chance to talk a little bit later on to give you another chance to talk a little bit later. But what we talked about so far is how we exist to multiply disciples. And that means we take small steps to share our hope with the people around us and we belong. We truly want to live at being a family even though that comes with Joys and Sorrows. The next thing on our list is that we become more like Jesus and Joe serves as our director for become a few questions for you as you lead us together to become more like Jesus. I wanted to know why, why is this a priority? Why does it matter why we about this? Hey. Did, you eat? My name is Joe. I might have very low-tech notes. Thanks for showing me out there, be coming to church but we are also a part of God's family. The Bible tells us that goat is off that we are adopted and that Jesus is all big brother. We are brothers and sisters of him. If we grow up in the family like this, as my own kids are growing up. I can say in some ways that growing like me and otherwise that wonderfully growing, very unlike me, which is great too. But in God's family, we look like we're growing up in the family, likeness was going to look like all big brother. I'll save you and I'll rescue a Jesus Christ. In the Bible tells us just like Carolyn's at the Bible tells us to grow up and it tells us to help each other to grow to become more like Jesus is good for us as we grow Jesus. We Running more into a god-given, a wonderful identity. So it's good for us and it's good for those around us. The more we looked like a big brother, a savior Jesus with the more we are doing all these other things that we talked about the caring for others within our church, family, blessing, those around us who don't yet know. Jesus, though. It's good. Frost is good for those around us. The Bible tells us to test a lot of reasons. So we need to make this a priority. So then the question is, okay. So how do we think this actually happens? If we not only say, what are we? What do we do? The really good question, and I've wrestled with that quite considerably. I read a book this week. I was over the first chapter book. So I'll wait until you, whether you should read it on to read the rest of it, but it's cool. Can you really grow up to be short person? They appealed to me about physical price about

Asking for a professional development to do, his work, goes off. Father. He loves us a long for us to grow in the family likeness it one way we do. This is just buy it loving. More Christians, the Holy Spirit lives in a car with a loan, with trusted in Jesus. We already started helping us to grow and become more like him. We look to Jesus. He's a model. He's a rescue. And the more we know about him and love him and get to know him. Actually, the more we'll look like him, but I know that you like how to steps. I think that's the most important, because it means that the Practical stuff doesn't become something. We beat ourselves up about, it doesn't become something. We think we have to do out of a sense of Duty or sense of ice Chute to do that. The Practical steps to come some things that we, we just won't. Today, we want to do because we wanted to be wants to grow out. So there are a ton of practical stuff we can do. We can I want a Sunday morning. Let's face it. That helps his grave. We can connect with other people, say lightly was talking about last week, but long as we connect more with in our church, we can talk more to each other. We can become more comfortable and safe with each other and that allows us to talk to be accountable to challenge each other. In an appropriate way together. We can solve together, we can do a bunch of stuff that the whole idea has collected. That is an absolute tonne of ideas and resources of things you can use to help you grow. I'm quick. Like, if you have any brilliant ideas on on that, please tell me and I'll let them know. Okay, that's a bunch of things we can do.

Oh, yeah. Well, I just kind of facilitate all the time. Mostly it's about culture. It's about me advocating for this culture where we, where we grow without talks about from the front where that stoked about and I'll smoke grapes. Coach of authenticity that says, we all growing on a Jenny. This is not that there was some like, super duper leaders in church. You've got this fix. We're all growing mold on it and how can we go with that sense of authenticity? Facilitate us growing together. You say nothing to do with facilitate spaces where we can go up at Diva together as she puts together a small group. So I'll suppress Works maybe going to explore some ideas for guys. If you'd like to come that conversation. Watch this space. OK Google sings with us now.

Coming up, which is also super exciting. I'm and shout out to Natasha. I know say to John who are helping out with the planning and preparation for Tuesday, night's 26th of October, for the women, on 2nd of November for the men will be thinking about a few of these think about contemporary topic on how that rubs up against our faith, how we can think about that topic, from a Christian perspective, think about it with guys, or girls, pending on who we are, and I'm just all the time, having those men's and women's specific stuff, just come to a different spice with a different. We can be a little bit more vulnerable sometimes. And Single gender group.

Can you promise Keepers? Just one really quick Story. 3 will make him really up three stories, please in my back and write a story is Women's Bible studies which have just become places where we get to know each other bathtub where we can be safe. I can never find it in time. I can thank you. That's very sweet of beans faces. Whereas groups of women we can get to know each other. We can explore the Bible together, but there was a space, we can share our lives and be honest and I'll send it with each other. And this time, we're looking and one of the women's groups at big story of the Bible and it's just been wonderful to see. Jigsaw pieces falling into place since we explore the big story of the Bible.

Quick story from s about the book room. Shout out to put cream. If you've been involved. And this year, the book room this time, one of us, but we've been looking at fabulous book about transgender looking at exploring this again. Contemporary of shape, but how we can bring a bit more and knowing how to love people, as individuals can really help us engaged and then my lost story of how do I say it's supposed to win. This is me to the greatest showman in my head. The you so much for the reminder that we've been thinking about race and just the wonderful gift that we are only able to do anything because we have Grace and we fail and we feel when we failed. But we can pick us up something because God loves us, and he extends his grace to it.

Wonderful Grace to us and that use the phrase me my life. I'm really hopeful that it's not the gate. It's the roads on the way by which we continue to develop. So I found just a teaching the music has really helped me Twilight Gana and just amazing trace of God's grace that he extends to me, safe to come in Sunday morning, a sandwich. We can all continue to drive cast is going to come and lead us in prayer for this aspect of our vision together now,

Let's play. No God, we thank you that part of your plan for us is to make us more like he we thank you that it's not something we have to try to do another load but something that you would doing in Us by your Holy Spirit. And as we think about ways in which we can grow and become more like Jesus, I pray that you will give us wisdom, help us to love you more and see the beauty in becoming more like you. As we welcome this journey with you throughout our lives. I pray that you would help us to see this beauty more and more until I seen becoming more like you. Help us to work alongside one another. As we do this to encourage and challenge one, another all the while, trusting in you to bring your wax completion in US. Pray for Joe is she leads us a hoop City in this area? Thank you. That she is willing to give up her time to do this, and for her passion to see people at Hope City grave. I pray that you would give her wisdom as she considers new and different ways. We can help one another growing, our relationship with you. And I pray that you would be at what's feel, what in the lives of every person here in Jesus name,. Amen. I think you care. So we exist the most, my disciples are big tag line and we talked about how we blast. We take small steps to share our hope we belong. We give and receive love in a family. Here. We become more intentional about growing more like Jesus through all these diverse ways. Finally, we multiply. So Dustin is going to join me now. He's our director for X. I'm going to ask him just a few questions about this aspect of our vision. Why is some this here? So why do we need the X step? Right? What's missing if we just had bless belong and become what doesn't happen without this last staff? Yeah. I've been thinking about that idea. What, what happens if we don't have X, and I think maybe a helpful metaphor would be, it would kind of be like, I hope so. You will be a tree that does not have any seeds. So, a tree with the design Macys is a really good thing, right? You can provide shade, they can provide true. Even it can provide Lyndeborough a place to hang a swing. It could be a really great thing but its impact has limited its limited. Look at to location. It can only be in one place. Yeah, it's also Limited in its scope and scale at some point that tree will no longer exist and its impact will end at that point and the same thing would be true of us at Soak City. If we didn't multiply, if we didn't plan charges are impact will be limited would be limited to only the people that would come to South Kyle that we can get to come here to this location. But by planning churches, we can reach people all over Scotland in the borders in the highlands, all over the place. Also be limited by the type of people who fit in at a church like this. There's lots of different kinds of churches. Watch a different styles of worship. Has lots of different ways that we can share our hope of Jesus with other and we want to encourage people to do that in ways that connect with them, and we can help do that by planting churches. So I think the reality is What's my existence so that we can share our hope with more people and have an exponential impact, Scotland needs the help of Jesus, currently that the reality is that most people who are born in Scotland today. If something doesn't change, will never have a close friend who is a disciple of Jesus. We can be a part of changing that having more people, sharing that hope by multiplying chart is buy. Plenty more charges both in Edinboro and in throughout Scotland that sounds Jazzy. This is the sort of thing that gets me really excited. This kind of exponential notification, but it sounds like that. Only applies to you a few of us. Really what's this? Got to do with everyone else so they can, I should they care. Yeah, absolutely it. So you might be thinking. Okay, great. Let's just multiply, but it's not that simple. We need to multiply every where we're going to multiply churches. If we're going to plant lots of churches, not just one church. We need lots of people engage in this in this Mission. Actually. We need all of us engaging in this Mission. We've multiplied everywhere. We need more, welcome teams. We need more slide operators. We need more people moving. Cameras around on Sunday morning, but we need more people sharing their help. We need an X everywhere at every level of what we call our leadership path. We need more people serving on teams. We need more team leader. We need to multiply the ministry leaders and directors. We also need to multiply people like elders and Bible teachers. We need to multiply everywhere so that we can share this. Hope. So that means all of us need to be growing and our ability to serve Jesus, through hokes at hokes at your home. You should be growing in that ability taking a further step in think about what is my next step as a leader at Hope City. That's really cool. Now, one of the things we've done is the church that we've set ourselves, the crazy goal of planting another church, by 2023 seems like a slightly less crazy go and we did that five years ago now seems bit mental. But anyway, why we have a goal like that Dustin, Wooten? Yes, you did this to us. It wasn't him. It's like that. It wasn't planning. Really happens by accident. Right. If you just look at most churches, most churches have never planted another church. They were planted at one point, but then you stopped. It ain't hard. It's difficult. We're going to lose, talk about belonging. We're going to send more people. The philpotts are moving down to England are going to share their hope in England. But as we multiply, we're going to share our hope he's sending people out of my friends tonight, but that's going to be as hard. It hurts more energy, more of everything, to plant churches. So if we don't set a date, the reality is they'll just keep saying we're going to do that one day, we're going to do that in the future, going to wait for the perfect time when we have too many leaders, which never happens when the other person who comes along with his. I really want to plan a church and then maybe we would do it to my setting a date. It is a 14 function. It forces us not only to do it but to get ready to do it. So it's changed the way we thought about things the reason We put the leadership and places. We said they were fine a distraction two years. We need more leaders. We need to think about how to develop people. We have a lot of really great teachers. I hope City Bible teachers, but we won't send three or four Bible teachers out in 2023. We need more Bible teachers. So we're thinking about how do we get more power to choose what the appropriate app to train people to do. So by what is changed? How we think about the church? And it's made us better as a result. So they not only is it a forcing function that makes us actually do it even though it hurts, but it's also made us better in the process. Brilliant, thanks very much, Dustin. Now, we've got a little treat here. Going to pray for this aspect of our vision to come to fruition just now to. I'm but Caleb hear. Some of you will know, serve with us some back at the beginning of our church, planting Journey. Hoping to be on the path to return just as a church planter and his wife summer. They are going to lead us together in prayer now, so let's pray. Let's pray. Father God, we are so grateful that you have called us to be a part of your mission that you invite us into what you are doing. We pray Lord that you would give us boldness to respond to that. Invitation is for Clarity on how we should respond. Whether that would be by Leading a team or joining a planting team or that we would be more bold with the gospel in our friend groups and communities. We mourn over all the people in our city who do not know you got. What are you staring at us? A desire to share the good news of Jesus Christ with our neighbors, provide us with opportunities, to love them. Well, you tell us and Luke chapter 10 that the Harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. So we pray that you would send more workers into the Harvest. Lord make us those workers. Placing us willing Hearts to serve and follow where you lead removed from us. All fear about sharing our faith, that we would leave this place empowered by the Holy Spirit. Proclaiming the good news with confidence in our city. We know that you called us to be a part of your mission to tell the world, your good news and bless the work that they're doing the X disciples last, that's been in the whole whole plant in 2023 and that you would draw together a faithful team for that. Now we thank you, Lord, for all the initiatives over all over Scotland that opposed to church plan. So that more people would join a Community of Faith. We know that from our standards multiplication and especially feel slow going churches of your Eternal perspective. Fresh them to do this hard work. That's all of us in your name, Jesus.

But we have to see Caleb and summer again soon. I'm but that's a bunch of token from the front. Again. Thanks for putting up with it. I see most eyes are opened. Well, done people. I want to give you two more minutes to turn the person next to you and talk about these next two aspects of our vision. Can you think of somewhere she seen this being lived out? What can you share, how you think you was an individual? Are we as a church should do better at letting us have to just 2 minutes and I'll draw us back together after that.

All, can you eat?

once we

As one Church.

I feel I feel really sad turning off that song. I think there was an amazing piece of work. So I think you to the team, he put them on together. I'm thanks so much for bearing with us this morning. As we spend time, considering our vision is a church. I know it's been a very different morning won't do this to you every week, don't worry, but it is really important to us that we hold onto and then we seek more more to live out. This vision is a church, we do this because I want to keep talking about a vision because Vision leaks hydrangea way. It's like send slips through your fingers and we forget what we're doing. We also want to focus on Vision this morning because we really do want to see this half, and we don't want to just to be words and ideas in the way. It happens, is by all of us choosing to be a part of making this real choosing to live, it have choosing to take one step deeper into it. Responding. We started this morning with our songs about God's grace and his value in his love towards us. Respond to God's free Grace and wonderful love by giving ourselves back to him. We make his calls are cools. Now. Maybe you're just checking us out this morning in which case you got the full jump and this is everything no more secrets. Nothing else. You should find out and maybe you're just not ready today to take another step, right? Maybe your life is up to here just now and you just need to stay alive. That is no problem at all. But we hope many of you as you hear these ideas want to say yeah, I'm in. That's what I thought yours was about. That's what I wanted to do. And what do I do with these last few minutes? Just give you some specific ways. Then you could choose to say yes. And take another step into this Vision. May be one of these will be right for you. Maybe like, that's it. Maybe one of them will just an idea for something else and something better to let me give you some ideas for how you could take a step further into this. Perhaps you could merge. Your universe is like Caroline was talking about to download. Jesus, yet with friends who do pranks, you could join us for our evening gathering for the first time and invest in going deeper, and becoming more like Jesus. Perhaps, you could notice a need in the church, family around you, and take the initiative in serving, that would practical love for us. You could, you can see the potential and somebody else around you at church and call them to step up. And use that past. You could be more disciplined for praying for people and one of your spheres of influence that they would come closer to Jesus, see how going to answer, preps, you could start and you have it taken just a few minutes. You stayed Reflect on God's grace, press you could speak as someone you find harder to talk to you after church and you could get listen and give them time and attention. Choose to do that. Perhaps you could decide to pray everyday for a while. The global send out more workers into his Harvest field and do that here. Cuz you could show Hospitality once a week. Just choose to eat with friends. When you would have eaten a lion, perhaps you could defend a relationship with a Christian friend Meetup. Ask them some questions rather than small. How was your week questions? You could take the plunge and set your course towards going part-time. So you can step further into God's Mission press. You could go and choose to serve your friends when everything and you says, no, I'm too busy. I don't have time and see how God uses that, perhaps, you could try out a new spiritual discipline. Maybe it's fasting or silenced, or giving or journaling, or reading press. You could pray for the needs of one Church friend all week and see what God does with that. You can let them know you're praying that you could take the gifts you've used in the workplace and you can spend some time thinking about how they could live and serving John Smith. Impressed, you could be brave enough this week to share a story where you would have kept your mouth. Shut normally preps, you could actually read one of those Christian books. You've piled up in your library and you've been saving for. When you have time you could offer to lead a team here. We need more people to leave more teams. Don't just be part of that. Perhaps you could open up more and be more vulnerable and real about how things are really going in your life. When somebody asks, Is there something here for you? Is there something that you could say? Yes to this week. Is there something like this that you could take one step further into? You get just a few seconds to reflect when I'm by Ellen and the team to come back and the band's get ready.

How to get a random Brothers come together as well, and get it seems. We've got a lot to celebrate for 3rd and the potential that we're thinking of other people with already happened so far as a prayer to, to get to know Jesus more to become more like Jesus, for him to the shape, our hearts in Sebring. It is light into into our worlds and as we have enough, so when can I invite you?
