“Keep Watch with Me” series

Last week “the law of the Lord is perfect”
Righteous & Justice are the foundation of His throne - just take a few seconds to think about or picture that in your mind. We saw that in
Psalm 89:14 SLIDE 3
Psalm 89:14 NASB95
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Lovingkindness and truth go before You.
SLIDE 4
Righteousness - “what is right”
Justice - “God has the final say”
Throne - “official seat of honor”
We also saw in Psalm 19: 7 SLIDE 5
Psalm 19:7 NASB95
The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
We broke that down what that would read like using all the Hebrew definitions to describe this passage and this is what it would read like.
SLIDE 6
The rule of the Lord is without blemish or defect, bringing back the heart, the inner self, the essence of life, thinking, feeling and willing from a point previously departed.
we just honored God in a drop the mic moment!
But on the flip side...... Today we begin our look at what the opposite of God’s rule, His ways His perfect law, this flip side called lawlessness. A lot of what the worlds influence is driving in these times.
Have you ever noticed this world influence seems to be pronouncing its own future. Think about the manufacturing and design industry, who was it that was against this ....the uni bomber right - Ted Kaczynski was against an industrialized world. He thought he was fighting for something good but in lawlessness killed good people.
How about the movie industry pronouncing the worlds influence of the future. Hunger Games… so many movies right..... how about
Mad Max - SLIDE 7 photo image

these apocalypse movies right.... how about this one - the Book of Eli

“This book is a weapon” this book - its aimed at the heart and soul of the desperate and low! (quoted form the movie)
the world system pronouncing its own future, (pronouncing) - declaring something, typically formally or solemnly
satan has been using his counterfeit (the flip side of God’s) ways of influence since the garden of Eden
satan plants a lie in the hearts and minds of people, a lie to believe strongly for something, a lie to produce emotions or a cause or action to seem for good, but ultimately is lawlessness
Paul addresses this world influence as the “Mystery of Lawlessness” in 2 Thessalonians 2: 7
The Mystery of Lawlessness SLIDE 11
Paul tells us in this passage that the Mystery of Lawlessness is already at work. Paul also goes on to say in this passage that this lawlessness is being restrained.
Isaiah pinned this in the Holy Spirit and described lawlessness perfectly. Again the counterfeit action of satan to twist someone to believe something is good but ultimately lawlessness.
Isaiah 5: 20 SLIDE 12
Isaiah 5:20 NASB95
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
Isaiah 5: 21 SLIDE 13
Isaiah 5:21 NASB95
Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes And clever in their own sight!
The book of Judges repeated several times that Israel had no king and they did what was right in their own eyes
Study of the Old and New Testament brings us to a root word (anomia) I wonder how many times part of this word is used in mental conditions? But after studying the word lawlessness yes you see sin as general but the root of lawlessness is “rebellion to God”
SLIDE 14
Lawlessness - (anomia) “rebellion to God”
SLIDE 15
Mystery - (musterion) hidden purpose or counsel, not obvious to understanding, secret will, secret counsels governed by God hidden from the ungodly and wicked men but plain to the godly.
Matthew 13: 11 SLIDE 16
Matthew 13:11 NASB95
Jesus answered them, “To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted.
1 Corinthians 2: 7 SLIDE 17
1 Corinthians 2:7 NASB95
but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory;
When God was revealing our times and coming times to Daniel, he only told him so much, the rest is sealed up till later times to know
The worldly, wicked and evil will not know the signs of the times, they will believe they are doing something for good when it is rebellion to God.
When Jesus was dying n the cross what did he say to the Father?Forgive them for they know not what they do
