Philippians 1:3–6 (NKJV)
3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
4 always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy,
5 for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now,
6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
The Apostle Paul was confident that whatever God has started to do his people, he was going to complete it.
God has began a good work
Isaiah 60:21 (NKJV)
21 Also your people shall all be righteous; They shall inherit the land forever, The branch of My planting, The work of My hands, That I may be glorified.
We are the works of his hands.
We have to be convinced that God never forskaes the work of his hand.
He will finish what he started in our lives.
Genesis 28:10–16 (NKJV)
10 Now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran.
11 So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep.
12 Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.
13 And behold, the Lord stood above it and said: “I am the Lord God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants.
14 Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.
15 Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.”
16 Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.”
Just like Jacob, The lord found us when we did not seek him and revealed himself to us.
God never forsake Jacob, He was with him until he finished what he had purposed in his life.
Isaiah 65:1 NKJV
1 “I was sought by those who did not ask for Me; I was found by those who did not seek Me. I said, ‘Here I am, here I am,’ To a nation that was not called by My name.
Psalm 25:12 NKJV
12 Who is the man that fears the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses.
God will teach each and every one of us in the way he chooses.
We must believe the Things that God will works in our lives
Hebrews 13:20–21 (NKJV)
20 Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
21 make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
God is the one that is working in you to do what is well pleasing in his sight.
Philippians 2:12–13 (NKJV)
12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
God is the one working within us both to will and to do for his good pleasure.
God will not only enable you to will what is good in his sight but also do his good pleasure.
Proverbs 21:1 NKJV
1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.
God will sanctify, preserve you
1 Thessalonians 5:23–24 NKJV
23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.
2 Timothy 4:17–18 (NKJV)
17 But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
18 And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!
We must have faith that the Lord will deliver us, and will preserve us until his coming
Psalm 138:6–8 NKJV
6 Though the Lord is on high, Yet He regards the lowly; But the proud He knows from afar. 7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand Against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me. 8 The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.
David had gone through alot of trouble.
There are time when he felt forsaken and given up hope, but he always found out that God was faithfull.
God never forsook the work of his hands.
In whatever things we go through God will never forsake his people, what he started he will finish.
So what must we do
Hebrews 10:22–23 (NKJV)
22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
we must hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.
