How I see life - we are on a journey to a wonderful place and can invite others to this wonderful place. We want to take as many with us as possible, to protect them from certain danger.
I want to be up for the challenge, prepared for the challenge, and be of maximum effectiveness in saving souls.
Noah...
built an ark - the ark was a vessel that saved those who accepted the invitation.
followed God’s instruction and kept on course despite what was going on in the world.
told others to come
saved those who “went into the ark” willingly
stayed in the boat upon the waters for 150 days, it rained for
I see our ministry as a vehicle to do this.
Four Points For This Body
Keep the boat on course
Stay in the boat
Help others into the boat.
Get in the boat
Keep the boat on course.
There’s only one way to be saved. He’s Lord of all or not at all.
Savior and Lord
John 6:68-69 “But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Stay in the boat.
Exhort one another - Hebrews 3:13 “but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.”
Teach one another - Col 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
Don’t play at the edge
Position yourself - children in middle and strongest at the front.
Help Others into the boat - Everyone needs someone at some point.
Love others enough to get them out of danger - John 13:35 “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Apathy - I’m saved. How often am I sharing my faith, inviting people to church, or going out of my way to minister to people.
I’m offended so I’m not going to help him into the boat.
I’m afraid to tell people the truth.
Bear with one another - Col. 3:13 “bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.”
Make room in the boat.
Get into the boat - We need one another.
When in need of assistance, call out to those who can help. Pride will let you drown alone.
I shouldn’t need help.
I don’t want to share what I’m going through with anyone.
**Pray for one another
**Teach one another
**Be like minded toward one another
Stay strong and alert to assist in the mission.
