PSALMS 22:25-26 “My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him. The meek shall eat and be satisfied: They shall praise the Lord that seek him: Your heart shall live for ever.”

To begin with brothers and sisters as we look at this Prophetic Psalms we realize that Psalms 22 is the 4th word, the exact words that Jesus spoke on the Cross. In fact the bible says in Matthew 27: 46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

and in verse 1 the Psalmist gives a gloomy picture of Christ’s future suffering.1. My God, my God why hast thou forsaken me? Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
This Psalms Indicates that the Great Shepherd of the Sheep, Jesus dies for His sheep. And a brief background of this Psalms tell us that when David wrote this song he was having a difficult time in his life. (Raise your hand if you ever had a difficult time in your life).
David had enemies and believe or not you have enemies too.
Brothers and sisters the opening statement Psalms 22:1 informs us of the execution of a criminal. That’s how the Jews and Roman Government treated Jesus. Jesus was crucified like a common criminal. And David was a prophet who wrote about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The first part of Psalms 22:1-21 speaks of David engaging in prayer during a time of suffering.Brothers and sisters prayer changes things prayer changes conditions and prayer changes circumstances. Because David’s prayer In verses 1-5, in every verse David felt like he was abandoned by the Lord.Everybody at some point or another will feel abandoned.
But I’m reminded that “when we can’t see God’s work we can trust His Hand and His Divine will.”
It’s like the footprints in the sand poem. At first you see two sets of footprints and when life’s trials get too hard for us we see one set of footprints. We only see one set because God is now carrying us through the mess we’re in. Anybody ever had a big mess that God carried you through?
Then in verses 6-11 the words are messianic in nature meaning they apply to our savior . Here’s where the word applies to the Messiah in verse 6.
I am a worm and not a man.
In verse 7. I am despised people laugh me to scorn they poke out their lips at me shaking their heads.
In verse 8. they said he trust in God let God deliver Him since That’s His favorite Son.
In verse 9. Lord I’m your only begotten Son
In verse 10 the Psalmist says and Jesus came to this world for your purpose and
in verse 11 the Psalmist says so dear God my God please don’t leave me by myself because trouble is all around me.
Doesn’t this sound a lot like Jesus’ story and His relationship with the Father?
And doesn’t this sound like what was going to happen to Jesus on the cross. Jesus was despised and reject of men and was a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief .Jesus was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
And when you’re going through changes, and you have agony, and you have pain and you have suffering, it’s not a good feeling.
Tell your neighbor: It’s not a good feeling
The text seemed like David was saying I don’t deserve this kind of treatment But in reality Jesus give us the example that he had been born for suffering. And if Jesus had to suffer we too must suffer to be partakers in His Glory.
But if we tell the truth about it, we don’t want to suffer and
sometimes we want to say Lord you made me and you know all about me .
Lord you cared for me from birth please don’t leave me like this, “not now Lord”!!!
Lord From a baby up until now you brought me. Lord You brought me through this and you brought me through that and Lord I’m grateful.
Then in verses 12-21 David was condemned by the laws in the word of God.
David looked up to the Lord for strength in verses 19- 20  Deliver my soul from the sword;
My darling from the power of the dog.
21  Save me from the lion’s mouth:
For thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.
David wrote this Psalms in the area called Bashan which is east of the Sea of Galilee
And in verse 20&21 David looked around and saw all of his brutal enemies and started comparing them to lions and bulls and dogs.
1.The wild dogs lived near the garbage dumps and were viscous and
2. The unicorns of the text which are really wild bulls that were known to encircle their prey and then moving in for the kill and
3. Then finally there were ferrous lions who are fierce anywhere they are.
David saw his dilemma within himself, (get this) and when he did that he saw a future glimpse of Christ’s crucifixion. and let me teach you something you may not have thought of .
“We know this was future prophecy because crucifixion was not a means of capital punishment in David’s time”. In fact David had never seen anybody crucified before in his life. So how could he write a song about Christ’s suffering and crucifixion unless it was future prophecy.
And so it has been pure dee hell for David for 21 verses of Psalms 22
Then finally we have a time of Praise.
22  I will declare thy name unto my brethren:
In the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.
Verse 22 says we can Praise God for the victory. After a storm like Ida Mae we ought to say thank you we ought to praise the Lord
After us Still dealing with Covid -19 and the Corona Virus and people are dying at a high rate, We ought to say thank you Jesus and we ought to praise the Lord.
After Even facing some of the personal problems with our health, our finances, trouble in our homes , trouble on our jobs, trouble in our communities, and even trouble in our churches. It’s time to say thank you Lord and we ought to Praise the Lord.
Let me speak for the record for myself
“Lord I’ll praise you in the Great Congregation” because I have respect for you Dear God
verse 23  says Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; If you have proper respect for God you’ll praise him
All ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; God deserves all the Glory
And fear him, all ye the seed of Israel. I’m a gentile seed of Israel.
Psalms 22: 24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;
Neither hath he hid his face from him;
But when he cried unto him, he heard.
In other words God I love the Lord He heard my cry and pitied my every groan and Long as I live I’m going to hasten to My God’s Throne.
David said in verse
25  My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation:
I will pay my vows before them that fear him.
My Praise not anybody else Praise but My Praise, ought to be special.
The word Praise in the Hebrew vernacular is the Hal-al . Hal-al means for you to shine, for you to boast about our God, for you to radiate and have a bright clear light that is visible from a source, and finally Praise means for you to shout with Joy!!! Somebody Hallelujah!!!
Listen to me when you’ve been through hell and high water and you get a chance to get back to the house of God and you’re in the great congregation, that’s the time when everybody else could be looking at you look you crazy and you shout hallelujah anyhow, and you say thank you Jesus anyhow, and you say Glory to God anyhow, and you say Bless that wonderful name of Jesus anyhow and
maybe they looking at you crazy while you still praising God.
then you ought to tell them
“you don’t know like I know what the Lord has done for me”.
And you can’t tell it like I can tell it how the Lord has set me free.
Psalms 22 is a really a song of a prayer that have a praise attached to it. It’s called the tune of “The Doe of Dawn”
26  The meek shall eat and be satisfied:
They shall praise the LORD that seek him:
Your heart shall live for ever.
Let me address the word LORD in verse 26. When ever you see capital LORD since we are in the names of God series and have barely scratched the surface here are the names of God associated with this Psalms 22 Because listen knowing which name of God to call makes it easier for us.
For example: If you go to the doctor and say I’m in pain the first thing the doctor is going to say is show me where the pain is. well likewise knowing which name of God helps us activate the specific areas that we want God to come see about . In .Psalms 22 :26 here is a lesson on the word LORD
1. Jehovah Adonai the self Existing One which describes the Function of the name of God.
2.The Yahweh describes the Divine Name of God.
3. El God’s Divinity and then El-Elyon describes God Most High
3. El-Olam describes the Everlasting God.
4. Shaddai describes the Almighty
5.Abe’ Er the Mighty One
6. Pa-had The Fear of God meaning the respect and reverence for God.
Last thing before I close
The meek shall eat and be satisfied. The Meek are those individuals who have a genuine fear or respect for God and the bible says they shall eat and be satisfied
And so as I leave you here today um um There was a Man who had been sick unto death and everybody thought he would die Oh Lordy.
And after a while he had a little talk with the Lord. And in his prayer to the Lord He said Lord 5th now Lord now now now Lord please come on and see about your child. And I heard the man saying Lord if you don’t help me
Whose going to shout My Praise unto Your Holy Name. And that’s when God in heaven heard the man’s heart Yes that’s when things changed.
It was when The man said My Praise Dear God is for You. Because nobody else can send up My Praise to You but me.
And The Lord stepped into Himself and became Jehovah Rapha the God that heals. Oh yes he did. And as soon as Jehovah Rapha touched the man the man was made whole.
The doctors said were astonished, they were amazed of the miraculous turn around. Because the doctors were about to call the family in and give them the bad news
Oh Lord.
The man got up out of the hospital and the next Sunday Morning the man went to church. He wasn’t quiet like he use to be. He began to shout Hallelujah!!! Thank You Jesus!!! Glory to God !!!and everybody was surprised.
He keep on Praising so long until the pastor said brother do you want to testify before the church? The man said yes, because you can’t tell it like I can tell it what the Lord has done for me.
The man said I was at death’s door and I asked the Good Lord to spare my life and He did
Oh yes I did.
I said 8th!!Lord 5th Lordy Please sir to have mercy oh Lord Oh Lordy ah. Lord if I died whose going to give you My Praise. Lord I don’t want to stop Praising you for who you are for what you have done and for what great things you will do
Please Lord give me one more chance.
The man said and brother pastor, officers and member I stand before you’ll to tell my determination. When I was in that hospital I felt a warm touch come over my entire body and I began shake and quake I began to mourn and groan and I began to laugh and cry at the same time
and I said thank You dear God for healing my body.
The man said I couldn’t wait until Sunday Morning to show my God My praise.
The man said every tub sits on its own bottom and you ought to have a praise in your mouth for our God. He been too good to you to sit quiet on Him in here.
The church was amazed at the man who always sat quiet in church.
And that tells me that when you have something to shout about you’ll praise God without anybody telling you to praise Him.
!!!God been good 3x God’s been good to me Have He been good to you
Because If I had ten thousand tongue it wouldn’t be enough to tell the Lord thank You.
