**Coffee Story** - Barista - Caio - I realised that I had NO IDEA how it was made, but I only knew, what I needed to know.
1st thing - No idea how it was made
2nd way - there was a correct WAY
3rd thing - I had more important things to do then figure out this coffee machine - I had to get on with my assignment. What are we called to do with the end times? Let’s explore it today.

What can we learn from the End Times?
What does Jesus want us to know, in order for us to grow from this prophetic scripture?
I believe, that it’s not what he has given us in His word that indicates what he is trying to tell us about the end times, but rather what he leaves out
We focus so much on the Truth, which is important, but what is th WAY Jesus wants us to know.
As we go through today, I want you to listen to how the Holy spirit Prods you - My hope is that through His Word we can grow closer to Christ - and become more LIKE Christ and figure out his WAY for our lives.
Revelation 19:11–16 (ESV)
Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.
Today’s message: Are you ready for Jesus to come back?

Where are we? We have been going through Mark 13 | What jesus has been trying to tell us about the end times?

Today we will look to summarise the most epic event in history which will be, 2nd coming | To understand and appreciate the 2nd coming of Christ you have to understand event leading up to it | The battle of Armageddon |
Quick Summary of what we have covered
We established the “Already, Not yet” view.
Going through Mark 13: Jesus foretells the destruction of the temple in 70 AD - We know that there are people who believe this was prophesy fulfilled | He then tells us what will NOT be a sign - Earthquakes, nation against nation, kingdom against kingdom, famines, these are NOT the sign rather beginning of birth pangs |
We then went through prob hardest scripture ever “ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION” - We went through Daniel, 2 Thessalonians and what Jesus said about it | Harmonised well | We said the anomoly was Luke, where he focused more on 70AD before talking about the Signs.
Now, I am about to take one side of thinking here, because I have to or this is going to be a 10 hour sermon.
Tribulation is a 7 year period, God’s whole revelation has to come through Israel, His soverign choice is Israel - Anti Christ gets set up, there are nations triyng to destroy Israel then 3.5 years in the anti christ becomes what - The abomination of desolation | Temple, become worshipped | Israel rejects him, there are nations coming to destroy Israel it says in
Zechariah 14:2 (ESV)
For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city shall be taken and the houses plundered and the women raped. Half of the city shall go out into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
Who is bringing nations together? Both | Satan for his Purposes | God for his Purposes | god allowing | Now whole world centered on the Middle east | At hte start this anti christ was friend of israels, now, abomination of desolation
He is trying to destroy Israel, because Satan is trying to keep Christ from coming back. So This Abomination of Desolation is in the temple, the 3.5 years of extreme destruction and wars, all this crazy stuff…and now...
Now the stage is set. Ever seena wrestling match? Lights go down…it gets darker, it gets darker. what does it mean? Jesus is saying “Let’s get ready to ruummmbblleee”
Let’s jump into Mark
“But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.
Remember last week we said that tribulation could of been Nero? Jesus is saying, what ever you think Trib is, 3.5 years after that…all that stuff in REvelation wILL HAPPEN.
2 Thessalonians 2:8 (ESV)
And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming.
The return of Jesus is what puts an end to this guy.
Sun going dark | Two views, completey literal, completely symbolic, I don’t think it has to be, it can be, flexibly literal. Which means, they happen, with heavy symbolic meaning.
This darkness, I think is very liteeral | At least locally, does that mean the sun will actually darken, I am not sure but when Locusts come, they flap so hard, it feels like the earth is shaking, and they cover the sun | Why do I say this? It establishes that it’s possible right.
Also we read about it in the first coming | The world went dark | If it happend in 1st coming, it means probably in the 2nd coming to right.
Revelation it says this hapens over and over - The nature of Jesus’ nature and lordship is not over just people but whole of creation | Fitting htere are cosmic signs, not just man but whole of creation.
Luke 21:25–26 (ESV)
“And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
IT’s definitely a sign - a physical sign.
Next thing in this passage is this cloud - Son of Man riding on Clouds - Again, I think this is physical.
First clue - about what Jesus wants us to know about the end times.
First point about what Jesus wants us to know comes just before the answer to this cloud predicimant that I want to touch on- Disciples are having a final chat with Jesus, before he departs.
Acts 1:6–8 (ESV)
So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Every time, End times was bout up, Jesus would put them on mission - To Evangalise the world - To spread the gospel. We should be hoping in it, but focusing on our Mission more than anything else. First clue about what Jesus wants us to know - this is important - It’s starting to provide us a WAY to the end times. now the cloud
And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”
The word says he COME THE SAME WAY | It’s literal, it’s physical, and it’s going to be real.
I want to make a point here, and please catch this. This is one of those amazing things in the Word.
He lays the beams of his chambers on the waters;
he makes the clouds his chariot;
he rides on the wings of the wind;
This is about Yahway - God, it’s a slap in the faace to the Baal worshippers and to baal, why? Baal was called the Cloud Rider and so this is like backhandling, it’s God taking it back.
in Genesis, God was given credit for all these things people where worshipping, Moon, Sun - but there is no diety in Creation only Creator | Now what awe have here - God, who invented everything, man who created Gods to worship above God, and Baal who has claimed the clouds - then revelation of Scripture takes back what man has been given to other Gods right…It says, I am the one to be worshipped.
Then we have Jesus, who will be given EVERYTHING that man has been given to false god - to this abomination of desolation, and it’s JESUS who rides on the clouds - and this is the big Reveal, it’s JESUS that rides on the clouds - who is LORD over us. who is God of God’s.
Like in Job, where God who walks on the water but passes us by, he was unreachable for Job - but then we have Jesus who walks on the water and it seems as though he is pasing by, but he doesn’t - He turns to us, He is GOD with us, God known to us, God who came, and wanted a relationship with you - God who died for you - it’s Beautiful.
Again, Clouds, literal, deep symbolic meaning, it’s about God’s Presence and Glory.
Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.
Every eye? How, sun, technology - I think Tech has something to do with it, why has God waited for us to have this Technology, there must be a reason.
How does he come back on the clouds? A white Horse
So Jesus will come back on white hourse - To appreciate this | Roman General, white horse, Horse of Victory.
His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself.
This is not Jesus meek and mild - no, you have 2 ways to relate to Jesus
2 Sides to a parent.
This is a good reminder - Sometimes it feels like we offend people if we present Jesus as the Ruler - In Acts they presented him Both ways | Jesus will Rule | If you choose him, you will experience grace, kindness etc etc, but if you don’t want him as Lord you are in rebellion against his Holy Government and God and punished as an outsider - Not Friendly, but true. I am looking forward to his Perfect Kingdom.
OK - How are we going?
Verse 27 | Relates to Israel and HIS elect - Rapture comes from greek word Harpazo, which comes from a latin word rapturo - comes from
For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.
so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.
Important Distinction: in Thess 4, he is coming Christ is coming FOR his saints, the second one he is coming WITH his Saints.
That’s all I am going to say on the Rapture.
Ok the next big thing in Mark is the Fig Tree.
“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near, at the very gates. Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
“This Generation” - Group of people, local time period
What is this fig tree? I have heard that the Fig Tree represent Israwl, but it’s hard to substantiate in the Bible - Nearly every verse in the Bible that has figrees in them, don’t represent Israel - Possible Joel 1:7, o
then look what it says in Luke 21:29-31
And he told them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. As soon as they come out in leaf, you see for yourselves and know that the summer is already near. So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that the kingdom of God is near.
The issue here is not the Fig Tree, it’s Time - The trees blossom during Summer time = Jesus says, you will SEE, then you will KNOW
So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near, at the very gates.
When you see these things, what are these things? There has only been 2 things to look for, the Abomination of Desolation and the Wonder and signs.
Careful about our interpretation of Scripture - Jesus said to look for what? Abom and Sun darkened | Just because certain things need to happen for Prophesy to be fulfilled, doesn’t give them a time clock for when Prophesy is happening.
Example = Israel, do we need Israel , Yes- Did Jesus say, when we get israel this wil happen…no
Templ = We need it, is it a time clock, no
Have to be careful about sign, leading to a sign, leading to a sign, why? Because it’s reckless and it brings down the sincerety of the Word of God - and we are to be the LIGHT.
Jesus only gave us 2 signs, that had a time clock and I think He did this for a reason. Rather than looking and being aware of all the signs, Jesus wants us to be on Mission. he wants us to live with the urgency of Jesus coming tomorrwo while planning that it might not happen for 100 years.
so we have these two signs, and when Jesus comes back it says he will come back to the Mount of Olives, where he left, and when he hits the ground the earth wtill split, he will slay the nations and bring about the slaughter of those who reject him,
“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.
And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written,
“The Deliverer will come from Zion,
he will banish ungodliness from Jacob”;
I believe this is the elect he speaks of in thess.
Then, Jesus will set up his Millenial Kingdom

What do we do with all of this?
We have so many Kings, Lion King...
When Jesus Christ comes back he will come back as the Lord of Lords, the king of Kings he is the Alpha + Omega, beginning and the end and he is our…personal…saviour…he is the one that came down and laid down his life.
What are we to do? How are we feeling? Do we feel like we don’t measure up? Is there a better way?
John 14:1–2 (ESV)
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.”

Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
We often speak of “The Truth” - And that’s important - but we should also be focusing on “The Way” - The way This king of kings and the Lord of Lords is asking you to live your life right now.
God for you? or You for God? Control, or Surrender? Bitternees, or forgiveness? God on a mantle, or God as the foundation?
Overworked? Stressed? Worried? Feel buried?
I have heard, “Your best days are ahead of you” - I disagree, your best days are now. Today. If you feel like you are under it right now, maybe you have been buried for something beautiful to work in your life.
What would it look like in your life right now, if every moment you thought Jesus was coming back tomorrow?
Who would you speak to about our Lord and Saviour?
Who would you love right now, look around, who in this Room needs love RIGHT NOW, who in this room needs help, right now.
Would you surrender yourself, say sorry? be encouraged?
Who are we?
Faith Filled, Spirit Lead, Truth Seeking Warriors of God, why? Because we have been given a way, and that wayis to Serve Jesus Christ how ever he wants us to serve him - We will not insult him with small thinking, or anything less than bet the farm thinking and we will do anything short of SIN to save someone why?
Because we don’t know when Jesus is coming back, but we know he is coming ,and he is coming for His people and we are going to spend ETERNITY with him. Because Jesus Christ said be. on. Mission.
What do we do, We continue building this community. We continue...
