Luke 14:15–24 NKJV
15 Now when one of those who sat at the table with Him heard these things, he said to Him, “Blessed is he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God!” 16 Then He said to him, “A certain man gave a great supper and invited many, 17 and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, ‘Come, for all things are now ready.’ 18 But they all with one accord began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it. I ask you to have me excused.’ 19 And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I ask you to have me excused.’ 20 Still another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.’ 21 So that servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the maimed and the lame and the blind.’ 22 And the servant said, ‘Master, it is done as you commanded, and still there is room.’ 23 Then the master said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. 24 For I say to you that none of those men who were invited shall taste my supper.’ ”

In my course of life I have been invited to several different types of dinners

Ive been to:

-Birthday Dinners

-Pastoral Anniversary

-Church Anniversary

- Wedding Party Dinners

and Some Just Because we wanted to fellowship Dinners.

If I had not been invited to these dinners I can honestly say, I would not have attended, But since someone had enough to invite me, Formal of Informal, I honored their invitation, showed up.

Sitting at tables and eating in both the Old and New Testament has am Eschatological mean, for much about scripture is sitting at tables in fellowship and enjoying a feast.

Most of the Psalms were penned to be song in their feast.

THE FEAST OF BULLS
THE FEAST OF UNLEVINE BREAD
THE FEAST OF PASSOVER
THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS
THE FEAST OF WEEKS
THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES

At these feast we find eating and fellowship taking place.

Jesus came eating and drinking while sitting at tables and holding fellowship during feast.

We gather together every 1st Sunday to eat and to drink a fellowship meal celebrated by Jesus himself as a reenactment of the Passover meal for Jesus said to them ‘ I WILL NOT EAT OR DRINK UNTIL I TAKE IT NEW WITH YOU IN MY FATHERS KINGDOM”...

There has been prepared for the believer a feast, Revelations 19 calls it THE MARRIAGE SUPPER OF THE LAMB for we will sit down together at a feast at table that's already been prepared , he says came for now all things are ready..

IN THE TEXT

The Master has invited guest to this feast that has been greatly prepared and laid out . Matthews account in Matthew Ch. 22 gives up a the menu of what was prepared at this feast.

- THE FATTED OXEN

- THE FIRSTLINGS OF HIS FRUIT

The table has been set and everything is now ready.

Time and weeks of much preparation has gone in to preparing this feast , invitations have gone out and accompanied by garments to wear , everything is ready and when the servants to follow up on the invitations that went out, everyone who had been invited had an Excuse…

The feast has been laid out with the:

- GOOD CHINA

- GOOD SILVER WARE

- LACED TABLE CLOTHES

- DESIGN PLACE SETTINGS

- THEY DID’NT HAVE TO LOOK FOR OR BUY ANYTHING TO WEAR FOR GARMENTS ARRIVED WITH THE INVITATION THAT WENT OUT AND THEY HAVE EXCUSE ON WHY THEY CAN’T COME.

ALL THINGS ARE READY AND THEY HAVE EXCUSES, EVERYTHING THEY NEED IS AT THE TABLE AND THEY HAVE EXCUSES!!!

One Said: “I just bought some land and I need to go check out my property”

One said: “I just bought some oxen to teal my fields and I have to go check em out and make sure their worth what I paid for them.

One Said: I just got married you already know what I got on my mind, its HONEYMOON TIME, I have to see if this is all they’ve been telling me it is…

THEY ALL HAVE PREOCCUPIED THEMSELVES WITH EXCUSES, In My fraternity we use a quote about Excuses, We quote that:

“ Excuses are tools of incompetence used to build bridges to nowhere and monuments of nothingness, those who use them seldom accomplish anythings” .

NOW DAYS EVERYBODY HAS EXCUSE ON WHY THEY CAN’T COME.

What i’m about to share with you is going to wrap this text up and I can really open the doors of the Church and take my seat.

Their Excuses had nothing to do with

- THE TIME OF THE FEAST

THE LOCATION OF THE FEAST

THE TRANSPORTATION TO THE FEAST

THE DRESS CODE FOR THE FEAST

THE REAL REASON FOR THEIR EXCUSE WAS BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT HUNGRY!

UNTIL WE HUNGER AND THIRST AFTER RIGHTEOUSNESS WE WILL NEVER BE FILLED!!!!

BLESSED ARE THEY WHO HUNGER AND THIRST AFTER RIGHTEOUS!!!
WATCH THIS IT GONNA BLESS YOU, DON’T MISS IT...

The Blessing in the Be Attitude is not Righteousness....

Righteousness is a Byproduct of a precondition...

The Pre Condition to Righteousness is Hunger and Thirst...

Hunger is the Blessing , Thirst is the Blessing and when you get hungry and thirsty enough the Byproduct of that precondition is Righteousness.

The reason why a lot of people have not accepted the invitation to the feast is because they have food allergies. They hop, ship, and jump from table after table and cannot pinpoint why they can’t get no satisfaction from the food their being fed because you cant eat at everybody table!!!!

My Mama and Grandmother didn’t allow us to eat at everybody’s table, She gave us a speech before we got out the car on what we were gonna say and why we weren’t hungry!

1. The Invitation Is Simple

—“Come”—One of the greatest words in the Bible. Used by Noah; used by Isaiah, Isa. 1:18; used by Jesus, Matt. 11:28. Let “whosoever will” come, Rev. 22:17. It is a simple invitation! Anyone who will come to Jesus will be saved, Rom. 10:13; John 14:6; Isa. 45:22. (Ill. The serpent on the pole.)

2. The Invitation Is Solid

—“All things are now ready”—God has already done everything necessary to make salvation available. He did it all when He sent His Son Jesus to die for our sins. He tears, His suffering, His death, His resurrection, all say, “Come, all things are now ready!” (Ill. John 19:30!) (Ill. This is the difference between religion and salvation. Ill. Moody and “Your salvation is spelled ‘Do’.” Mine is spelled ‘Done’.”)

3. The Invitation Is Serious

—“Now”—God has done everything necessary to provide salvation. He is ready, but He wants us to come to Him. The time to come is now,

2 Corinthians 6:2 ESV
2 For he says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

Do not put it off until later; later may never come,

Pro. 27:1 Pro. 29:1 There may never be another opportunity,

Proverbs 29:1 ESV
1 He who is often reproved, yet stiffens his neck, will suddenly be broken beyond healing.
Proverbs 27:1 ESV
1 Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.
Isaiah 55:6 ESV
6 “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near;
