WE EXIST TO HELP PEOPLE KNOW JESUS AND FIND PURPOSE
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

I realized… I couldn’t lift my weight — We all carry weight and often we don’t realize what we are carrying till it’s too late — you know you see that photo… is that me?
Thats how gaining weight works it’s so slow — in the moment it doesn’t seem like what we are doing may have long term effects.
This isn’t a diet seminar but I want to ask today What’s Your Weight? How much weight are you carrying? — Hebrews said we are in a race and that we need to strip off every weight that slows us down

5 Suddenly, they saw the fingers of a human hand writing on the plaster wall of the king’s palace, near the lampstand. The king himself saw the hand as it wrote, 6 and his face turned pale with fright. He killed those he wanted to kill and spared those he wanted to spare. 25 “This is the message that was written: Mene, Mene, Tekel, and Parsin. 26 This is what these words mean: Mene means ‘numbered’—God has numbered the days of your reign and has brought it to an end. 27 Tekel means ‘weighed’—you have been weighed on the balances and have not measured up. 28 Parsin means ‘divided’—your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and Persians.”

I WANNA BE IN THE FIGHT BECAUSE THAT’S WHERE THE LORD IS
BUT CODY… WHY WOULD ANYONE ACTUALLY ADD WEIGHT TO THEIR LIVES? — WHY WOULDN’T SOMEONE HAND THAT OVER? — BECAUSE SOME ARE EASY TO HOLD ONTO AND HARD TO LET DOWN

BITTERNESS
ADDICTION
PERFECTIONISM
GUILT
WORRY
WE USUALLY PICK UP ONES OF THESE WEIGHTS BECAUSE WE HIT A TRIAL — WHEN YOU’RE HUNGRY YOU PICK THE WORST FOODS — MCD’S — BEEF RAMEN LOOKS LIKE RUTHS CHRIS — IN TRIAL WE PICK THE WORST WEIGHTS
YOU GET TO PICK YOUR WEIGHT!
28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
HOLD UP — SO JESUS GIVES YOU A BURDEN? A WEIGHT? THE BURDEN JESUS BRINGS IS A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM — THAT’S IT! A LIFE CHANGING RELATIONSHIP
19 This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.
SO WHAT IF I TOLD YOU THAT TODAY YOU COULD DROP WEIGHT?
JESUS SAID COME ALL WHO CARRY HEAVY BURDENS AND HE’LL GIVE REST
