The Past 7 days have been full of Pain, Confusion, and Sorrow

This Life is Short

Ecclesiastes 3:1–6 CSB
1 There is an occasion for everything, and a time for every activity under heaven: 2 a time to give birth and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to uproot; 3 a time to kill and a time to heal; a time to tear down and a time to build; 4 a time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance; 5 a time to throw stones and a time to gather stones; a time to embrace and a time to avoid embracing; 6 a time to search and a time to count as lost; a time to keep and a time to throw away;

You Do Matter

Zephaniah 3:17 CSB
17 The Lord your God is among you, a warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with gladness. He will be quiet in his love. He will delight in you with singing.”

You Are Loved

Romans 8:35 CSB
35 Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
Romans 8:37–38 CSB
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,
Romans 8:39 CSB
39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

You Do have a Purpose

Proverbs 19:21 CSB
21 Many plans are in a person’s heart, but the Lord’s decree will prevail.
Matthew 28:18–20 CSB
18 Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

You Cannot Lose Your Salvation

John 5:24 CSB
24 “Truly I tell you, anyone who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not come under judgment but has passed from death to life.

There is Hope

Romans 5:8 CSB
8 But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 10:9–10 CSB
9 If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation.
Romans 10:13 CSB
13 For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Break off into Small Groups and Discuss:
It’s okay to feel whatever emotion you are feeling. What’s not okay is bottling it up. So how would you describe the emotions that you are feeling?
It’s important for us to realize that this sort of situation doesn’t just pop up, but it is something that is a result of a struggle that we’ve dealt with for a long time. Why do you think that people bury things inside instead of talking about them?
Have you ever felt like you didn’t matter or weren’t loved? How did you deal with that?
If you could say something to encourage someone struggling with Suicidal thoughts, what would it be?
