Jump-Ship

Mark 4:36–41 TPT
36 After they had sent the crowd away, they shoved off from shore with him, as he had been teaching from the boat, and there were other boats that sailed with them. 37 Suddenly, as they were crossing the lake, a ferocious tempest arose, with violent winds and waves that were crashing into the boat until it was all but swamped. 38 But Jesus was calmly sleeping in the stern, resting on a cushion. 39 So they shook him awake, saying, “Teacher, don’t you even care that we are all about to die!” Fully awake, he rebuked the storm and shouted to the sea, “Hush! Calm down!” All at once the wind stopped howling and the water became perfectly calm. 40 Then he turned to his disciples and said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Haven’t you learned to trust yet?” 41 But they were overwhelmed with fear and awe and said to one another, “Who is this man who has such authority that even the wind and waves obey him?”
Show me your scars:
If an Adult was to attempt to join a gang or the mob. One of the first questions they would ask is where were the locked up at.. Why because they can’t trust anyone who lives in the underworld and has never been in jail. Next question how many bodies have you bagged? The tear drop on your face or the bars on your arm are poof.
2. As A Christian one might ask what type of storms have you endured. Your Scars are the proof you survived. But it doesn’t verify if you didn’t jump ship......
John 20:27 NLT
27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!”
Jesus had plenty of opportunities to bail out, to jump ship yet he never gave up on us......
Mark 4:37 TPT
37 Suddenly, as they were crossing the lake, a ferocious tempest arose, with violent winds and waves that were crashing into the boat until it was all but swamped.
Whenever God calls us to cross over we should expect a storm
The effects of the Storm will try to stop us from getting to our next!!
it will violently attack us
Mark 4:38 AMP
38 But He [Himself] was in the stern [of the boat], asleep on the [leather] cushion; and they awoke Him and said to Him, Master, do You not care that we are perishing?
2. Jesus is always with us, Some times it might feel like he’s gotten off our boat, Sometimes it feels like he doesn’t care.
Matthew 28:20 AV
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
3. These guys felt like this was a life or death situation, yet they never thought about jumping out the ship
Mark 4:39 (TPT)
39 So they shook him awake, saying, “Teacher, don’t you even care that we are all about to die!”
I. They had to shake him awake
II. They had a legitimate concern
III. They where willing to stay on the boat and die with Christ.
This is the part where I must pause to talk about this social media movement....
41 But they were overwhelmed with fear and awe and said to one another, “Who is this man who has such authority that even the wind and waves obey him?”
Fear is the door to our deliverance.. if you can face it, deliverance & Victory is on the other side of the door .
David & Golaith
The Text States:
Jesus is Fully awake, he rebuked the storm and shouted to the sea, Hush! Calm down!” All at once the wind stopped howling and the water became perfectly calm.
The LORD sent me here to tell someone, don’t quit, don’t jump ship, don’t throw in the towel because of the storm...
The storm is here to condition you, to perfect you, too teach you… to establish you.
1 Peter 5:10 TPT
10 And then, after your brief suffering, the God of all loving grace, who has called you to share in his eternal glory in Christ, will personally and powerfully restore you and make you stronger than ever. Yes, he will set you firmly in place and build you up.
1 Peter 5:10 AV
10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
Look at your neighbor and tell them toooo
Settle Here.....
1 Corinthians 1:8–9 TPT
8 He will keep you steady and strong to the very end, making your character mature so that you will be found innocent on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God is forever faithful and can be trusted to do this in you, for he has invited you to co-share the life of his Son, Jesus, the Anointed One, our King!
1 Corinthians 1:8–9 GW
8 He will continue to give you strength until the end so that no one can accuse you of anything on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God faithfully keeps his promises. He called you to be partners with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
es·tab·lish| 1 set up (an organization, system, or set of rules) on a firm or permanent basis:2 achieve permanent acceptance or recognition for: 3 show (something) to be true or certain by determining the facts:
Tell Your other neighbor, you can leave out of season if want, but if you had any Good God Since you would settle right here in your storm and in your blessed place…
3 settle: adopt a more steady or secure style of life, especially in a permanent job and home:
Your Scars are the evidence You Survived it, but your maturity is the proof you didn’t jump ship...
Mark 4:41 AV
41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
you don’t have to jump ship
don’t forget God is on it
God is goin to handle it!!
