Only One Spirit

Acts 16:16-18

Introduction:

There is a lot of confusion as to just what is spiritual and what is not.

Even the term spiritual takes on different meanings depending on who you talk to.

The new ager talks about the power of crystals.

The wickens talk of the spirits.

The clear voyant speaks of visions.

All of these and more can be categorized in one group which is devilish!

I. We understand that the girl is possessed.

Those that would easily explain away the scriptures, make the writers of the bible and the Author of the Bible bumbling idiots that are ignorant of the enlightenment which modern medicine and psychology has brought to the understanding of such ailment.

So that the convulsions they suppose this girl and others had were some epileptic seizure!

II. We understand that the spirit (demon) tried to assimilate itself with the gospel.

A. Jesus Himself forbade demons to testify of Him. (Luke 4:41)

B. His accusers believed Christ to work miracles by demonic forces. (Matt.12:24)

III. We understand that there can be no regard for the works which are clearly satanic.

A. They are not as the world believes, innocent or neutral.

B. The one Spirit which Ephesians speaks of is the Spirit of God, we cannot mix any other with it. Eph.4:4

C. Even the realm of the metaphysical cannot cohesively exist with Christ, for it is of a spiritual nature.
