5 And Jesus, answering them, began to say: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 6 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and will deceive many. 7 But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet. 8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows.

9 “But watch out for yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues. You will be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them. 10 And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations. 11 But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. 12 Now brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. 13 And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

Mark 13:3-4 The Disciples ask when will we know these things are about to happen.

3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Him privately, 4 “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled?”

There will be people who will rise up and say that they are Jesus returned, but will be a false prophet.

Colossians 2:8 gives us a glimpse into how these people will deceive so many people.

8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

These False Prophets will be preaching things that are worldly instead of Godly.

Mark 13:7-8 There will be wars, natural disasters, and famines.

According to a report by the Department of Defense as well as the Pentagon in 2020 “China now has the largest navy in the world with 350 warships compared to Americas 293”

Also mentioned within that report, they are ramping up there military causing concerns of there intentions of why they are ramping up there military.

It also reports that Russia is ramping up there military spending.

There will be widespread famine.

according to a report by the U.N. “Ethiopia, Madagascar, South Sudan and Yemen – are already experiencing famine-like conditions and nearly three dozen more countries could experience famines in 2021, pushing an additional 130 million people to the brink of starvation.” due to covid.

The price of food in Syria has increased by as much as 240%

“The economic impact combined with disruptions to routine health services could result in deaths of 2.3 million children over the next year – a 45% increase in under-five child deaths per month. This is in addition to the nearly 3 million children who are already dying from malnutrition annually.”

According to “Feed America” it is estimated that “42 Million people in America may experience ‘food insecurity’”

Mark 13:12 States that there will a strong division between families.

Micah 7:6 speaks of the same thing in a little more detail.

Daughter rises against her mother,

Daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;

A man’s enemies are the men of his own household.

Matthew 24:10 states that people people will be offended and will betray and hate one another.

10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.

2) You will be hated for my names sake.

Mark 13:13 states that you will be hated by all.

13 And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

Matthew also records Jesus saying this in Matthew 24:9.

9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.

John 15:20-21 says that just as they persecuted Jesus they will persecute you.

20 Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. 21 But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.

2 Timothy 3:12 says that we will be persecuted.

12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

3) All who endure to the end shall be saved.

Matthew 5:10-12 calls it a blessing to be persecuted.

10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,

For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Luke 6:22 also recalls this teaching of Jesus.

And when they exclude you,

And revile you, and cast out your name as evil,

For the Son of Man’s sake.

1 Peter 3:14 says not to be afraid of their threats.

14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.”

They will threaten to kill you, but that is the best thing that can happen to us as christians because Philippians 1:23 says that it is “far better to be in the presents of the Lord.”

23 For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.
