In Acts 5:1–8:3 we find both internal and external problems facing the early church.
Inside the church, you found:
Dishonesty (Acts 5:1–11)
Administrative headaches (Acts 6:1–7)
Outside the church, you see that the church was being pressured by persecution (Acts 6:8–8:3)
Through it all, the leaders kept their focus on what was most important—spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5:1-11)

The Church attracts all types of people
People who want more of God
People who want to profit financially from religion
Power mongers seeking control
The self-centered who want to be pampered and cared for
People who want to be noticed and affirmed for their “holy” acts.
Ananias and Sapphira fell into this last category
They concocted a plan intentionally.
They hoped to give a little and yet make it look like they gave a lot.
