Introduction

My Brothers and My sisters
It’s no secrete that the world we live in today,
has strayed far away from God.
It no secret, that we are living in a world that is centered around emotions.
What feels good.
What looks good.
And about self.
The times that we are living in, have become so bad, that people would rather live life outside of the will of God, just to satisfy what makes them happy.
My Brothers and My sisters
( This is the Mindset and the times that we are living in these last days)
The bible calls the times; Perilous times !
A time when people would only have an interest in themselves. (Lovers of Self)
A time when people would not be content with the life they have, but instead be angry over the life, advancement, and gains of others, in which they desire. (Covetous)
A time, in which people love to brag about themselves, what they have, and what they can do. (Boasters)
A time when Children reject and refuse to do what parents tell them to do. (Disobedient to Parents)
And to make matters worst,
it would be a time when people would totally be in opposition of the truth and disrespectful towards God. (Blasphemers)
My brothers and my sisters and
Each of these behaviors, attitudes, or mindsets are deeply rooted in the word we know as Pride.
P.R.I.D.E
Pride is defined as A reasonable or justifiable self-respect; or an improper and excessive self-esteem known as conceit or arrogance .
In the Hebrew and in the Greek. The words used for Pride, Refer to being high or exalted in attitude.
Or inflated with pride or egotism.
The idea is that one gives the impression of substance, but is really only filled up with air.
Pride is associated with the pagan, Greek, goddess ,Hybris -
a demonic spirit known for insolence, violence, and outrageous behavior.
The Bible declares in Proverbs 16:5
That- (Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: Though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.)
My Brothers and My Sisters;
And we must understand, that an Abomination, is
anything that causes disgust to God.
And it's something that he hates!!
The Bible declares : Proverbs 6:16‭-‬19 KJV
These six things doth the LORD hate: Yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, Feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, And he that soweth discord among brethren.
King Solomon said, Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall -
And in the bible we can find a number of individuals that allow Pride to cause them to fall.
who wrongfully dared to burn incense on the altar of incense - and was struck with leprosy as his punishment from God. - He tried to function as King and Priest - a position that is only reserved for Christ!!
It was King Herod’s pride in accepting worship from people and refusing to give God the glory f- or his greatness- that God struck him with sickness, and he was eaten by worms and died,
And finally it was pride that Caused the Anointed Cherub- Lucifer - we now known as Satan - to fall.
He had everything that a person could want.
He was Anointed,
He was the most beautiful,
he had a high position,
and he was the most gifted of all of the angels when it came to musical talent- but he let PRIDE rule in his heart.
He had no desire to serve God , but his Mindset was to be God himself.
and for this reason - he was cast out of Heaven.
Tonight I want to declare to God’s people- that if we truly want to have a Kingdom Mindset - We must reject the mindset of satan - and adopt the Mindset of the King!!!
but before we can adopt the Mindset of the King-
We must 1st Enter into and examine the King’s Mind!!!

Body

As we look at The Book of Philippians and it’s Author
We can Discover A Man named Paul- who was was once know by the name of Saul-
The bible would teach us that He was a man that was know for his mindset that was Against Christ and against the church.
In Acts Chapter 7
We see his 1st appearance in the scriptures as one being present at the stoning of Stephen . The Bible tells us that after the stoning of Stephen, the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of Saul.
In Acts chapter 8 verse 1 we see that Paul was in agreement with what had happened to Stephen- And by the time we get to Chapter 9- we find him starting his own personal persecution campaign against the disciples of the Lord.
But on his way - as he Journeyed, he came near Damascus: and Suddenly there shined, round about him a light from heaven- and he fell to the earth and heard a voice saying Saul Saul, Why persecutes me- Saul's response was Who art thou, Lord?
And the Lord said , I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
Point #1
The 1st thing we need, to help us to develop a Kingdom Mindset- is we 1st must have an Encounter With God. and we must receive the revelation of who he is!
True conversion comes from a personal encounter with Jesus Christ and leads to a new life in a relationship with him. We must 1st have an encounter. and we must receive the Revelation of who he is.
After the Lord reveals himself to Saul- he gives him instructions to get up and to go into the city to receive further directions. - this is Saul conversion.
The Lord declared Saul- a chosen vessel unto him- one that would bear his name before the Gentiles, and Kings and the Children of Israel..
After Ananias laid hands on him- so that Saul could receive his sight, and be filled with the holy Ghost-
He was Baptized and his Mindset was changed. He went from being against christ to straightway Preaching Jesus Christ is the Son of God!!!!
Paul would continue to preach Christ as he ventured on missionary trips- and many times Paul would find himself being arrested and put into prison because of his -preaching-
As we examine the information surrounding the text- it is uncertain but is most likely that Paul is writing this epistle from a Roman prison-
And the purpose of this letter is partially in response to the aid, that he had recieved from the the church at Philippi.
This letter presents a Paul who is in prison, yet he is at peace with his sufferings.
This is the Mindset of Paul- Although he is suffering -
He is at peace and he has Joy in his suffering.
(How can A person Have Peace? And How can a Person have joy? while they are suffering?
The secret to having peace and to having Joy when you are going through something or suffering - is grounded in your relationship with christ .
Because When you know Jesus - You will have the Mindset
that no matter what- may come your way- your Life is In his hands!!!!!
So no matter what is the problem is!
No matter what is the situation is!
no matter what the circumstances is!!!
We can have Peace and We can have Joy- Because We got Jesus-
( Look at your neighbor and say neighbor ) DO YOU HAVE JESUS!!!!!!!
Because When you have Jesus - You will have Peace and You will have Joy!!!!!
There is Joy in Suffering!
and There is Joy in Serving .
I want to declare on tonight that if we truly want to have a Kingdom type of Mindset-
#1 We must Be like Jesus, -
#2 We must serve
and
#3 We must be humble!
