Just BE LIKE JESUS. Adopting THE MINDSET OF CHRIST)

Introduction

My Brothers and My sisters

It is no secrete; that the world that we live in today,

has strayed far away from God.

It is no secret !

that we are living in a world that is centered around feelings and emotions.

We are living in a World - That is only concerned about

What feels good, and What looks good, and all about self.

The times that we are living in, have gotten so bad!

that we are seeing a generation of people,

who would rather live life outside of the will of God,

just to satisfy and do what makes them happy.

The bible calls the times that we are living in,

Perilous times !

We see people who only have Love for themselves.

People who are Jealous over what other people got and are accomplishing.

we see People who love to brag about themselves, on how Anointed they are, on how much money they got, and about every thing that they do.

We see children talking back, Not listening, or respecting their parents.

We see people rejecting and in strong opposition of the truth.

And Worst of All !

We see people being disrespect and making a Mockery - out of God.

Lovers of Self

Covetous

Boasters

Proud

Blasphemers

Disobedient to parents

Unthankful

Unholy

My brother and sisters;

Each of these Mindsets, behaviors, and attitudes are all deeply rooted in pride.

P.R.I.D.E

Pride is defined as A reasonable or justifiable self-respect; or an improper and excessive self-esteem known as conceit or arrogance.

In Hebrew and in the Greek.

The words used for Pride,

Refer to a Mindset of being high or exalted in attitude.

it also refers to one being puffed up or inflated with egotism.

The idea is, that one gives the impression of having substance,

But in reality is only filled up with Air.

Pride is associated with the pagan, Greek, goddess ,Hybris -

a demonic spirit known for PRIDE, insolence, violence, and outrageous behavior.

The Bible declares in Proverbs 16:5

That- (Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: Though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.)

My Brothers and My Sisters;

And we must understand, that an Abomination, is

anything that causes God to become grossed out.

It is something that is disgusting to God

And it's something that he hates!!

The Bible declares :

These six things doth the LORD hate:

Yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

A proud look,

a lying tongue,

hands that shed innocent blood,

A heart that deviseth wicked imaginations,

Feet that be swift in running to mischief,

A false witness that speaketh lies,

And he that soweth discord among brethren

King Solomon says in Proverbs 16:18

Pride goeth before destruction,

And an haughty spirit before a fall.

In the bible we can find a number of individuals that allowed Pride to cause them to fall.

It was Pride that caused King Uzziah to fall.

He attempted to burn incense in the Temple, an act that was restricted to priest-

And when the priest attempted to send him out of the temple,

the king became angry and was immediately stricken with leprosy- as his punishment from God .

It was pride that caused King Herod to fall. As he accepted the worship from people, refusing to acknowledge God and give him the glory for his greatness-

God struck him with sickness, and he was eaten by worms and he died.

And finally it was pride that Caused the Anointed Cherub- Lucifer - we known as Satan our adversary - to fall.

He had everything that a person could ever want.

He was Anointed,

He was the most beautiful

He had Position and Authority

He was the most gifted in music.

But he let Pride - Rule in his heart!

His pride not only gave him a desire to be like God, But it gave him a desire to be God himself.

And for this reason,

he was cast out of Heaven!

Tonight I want to declare to God’s people-

that if we are going to have a Kingdom Mindset -

We must reject the mindset of satan - and adopt the Mindset of Christ!!!

Let this Mind Be in You, which was Also In Christ Jesus!

Point #1

We must Be Like JESUS!

If we Claim to be Christians!

that means that we have come into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ!

placing him as Lord over our lives,

committing ourselves to Follow and to live,

according to the example that he has set.

this includes adopting and Applying the type of Mindset that Jesus had into our lives!

In Philippians chapter 2: 6-8

The Apostle Paul helps us to Enter into the Mind of Christ.

(6) Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: (7) but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a SERVANT, and was made in the likeness of Men:

Point #2

If We are truly going to Be like Jesus and have a real Kingdom type of Mindset like him - We Must become Servants-

WE MUST SERVE!!!! and serve with the right attitude, especially when it comes to entering into the presence of God.

Psalm 100 gives us the perfect Example of the type of Mindset that we should have -

It says to:

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. (This is a call and invitation for everyone to participate in Praise and Worship to God)

Serve the Lord with gladness: ( This is a call to Serve with the right type of attitude)

Come before his presence with singing. ( Praise and Worship)

Know ye that the Lord he is God: ( We must Know God’s Position)

It is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; (We must know our Position as it relates to him)

We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. (here We find identity and Security)

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,

And into his courts with praise:

Be thankful unto him, and bless his name. ( This is instructions on how to enter into God’s Presence)

AND FINALLY WE GET TO THE CONCLUSION FOR EVERYTHING -

For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting;

And his truth endureth to all generations.

Because the Lord is good and because he has not poured out his wrath on us which we so rightly deserve- Not only should we be thankful unto him and bless his name but we should humble ourselves in his presence.

Point # 3

If we are going to Be Like Jesus, and if were are going to be Servants -

WE MUST HUMBLE OURSELVES

(8) And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Can i keep it Real! Being Humble or having Humility is not always easy.

IT dose not matter how Anointed, or how much you think you got it together!

People will take you there!

Situations will take you there!

Circumstances will take you there!

Do you have the Mindset to respond in anger and in pride -

Or do you adopt the mindset of Jesus, and allow him to be your perfect example.

Conclusion

Jesus Christ -

He is always existed with God.

He is equal to God because He is God!

Although he is God, He became a Man.

In order to fulfill God’s Plan for salvation.

-He gave up his rights and his privileges Just to die on the cross for our Sins!

He died in our Place- A death that we all so rightly deserve.

AND GOD GLORIFIED HIM BECAUSE OF HIS OBEDIENCE

DO YOU HAVE THE KINGDOM MINDSET TO BE LIKE JESUS

DO YOU HAVE THE KINGDOM MINDSET TO SEVERE

WILL YOU ALLOW PRIDE TO RULE IN YOUR HEART

OR WILL FOLLOW THE EXAMPLE OF THE HUMBLE EXALTED CHRIST.

I leave you with these Words.

JUST BE LIKE JESUS, AND strive to Follow Christ Example!
