High View of God is 1st
High View of You (Calling) (PICTURE OF HIKE: CAMP OR HIKE. )
The ultimate break down happens at this point. It is easy to get off track and think that the High View of You, is about you.
That this life is about you.
God choose you. God loves you. It’s about you.
It is so easy at this juncture to get off track
When I was hiking the AT, I found my self at a confusing delima… The Journey will lead to lots of confusing delima’s, but more about that in a few moments.
Which way do I go?
What do I do when my heart, mind, and soul are divided?
Divided Mind (Thoughts)
Divided Heart (emotions)
Divided Soul (Wholness)
When YOU are divided, look for high ground: A High view of God.

What does God want?
Leave, Father House, Kindred, and Culture?
For the sake of others.
Go! I will give you direction as you go
I WILL BE YOUR GOD.
YOU WILL BE MY FAMILY
YOU WILL BE BLESSED!!! TO BE A BLESSING.
We have been using the story of Abraham, known as the father of faith, in this first High View section. He represents us well I think. He wants a relationship with God. He desires to be obedient. He see’s the faithfulness of God, so he longs to be faithful. Abraham hits several divisions of his mind, heart, and soul.
When Abram was ninety-nine years old the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless,
that I may make my covenant between me and you, and may multiply you greatly.”
Then Abram fell on his face. And God said to him,
“Behold, my covenant is with you, and you shall be the father of a multitude of nations.
No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.
I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make you into nations, and kings shall come from you.
When YOU are Divided, get a fresh vision for the mission.

When our hearts, minds, and soul become divided by the timing, circumstances, the blessing… This is a time to go back to why God choose you!!
Blessed to be a blessing… My life and obedience will lead to the delivery of Christ fo the sake of others!!!
The mission is to be a blessing to others. Abraham will lead to Isaac… who will become the great great, many great grandfather of Jesus.
Abraham, could not see it at the moment, but he left so many things behind for the BLESSING OF THE GENERATIONS TO COME.
ABRAHAM’S LIFE COME’S DOWN TO LAYING THE FOUNDATION OF JESUS CHRIST FOR THE GENERATIONS TO COME.
FAITHFULLNESS IS LAYING THE FOUNDATION OF JESUS CHRIST FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.
And he believed the Lord, and he counted it to him as righteousness.
What story or narrative are you going to believe?
When YOU are divided, don’t give in to sin.
Don’t take a shortcut.
Don’t give into distorted truth.
Don’t let the end justify the means.
Don’t make an idol out of the blessing (Promise). Prosperity Gospel.

Sin twists the purpose and the mission. It makes it about me!
Impatience leds to sin. I want to be at the end of the journey, the reward.
AT can not be trekked in a day.
TECHNICALLY FAITHFUL BUT SINFUL.

Divided heart, mind, and sould leds to a divided story or legacy!
The Story of Abram and Sarai is a story of:
Look at that Old man and woman… The have been traveling through the countryside for 25 years. He mutters about being directed by God and having a big family. He’s Crazy.
Shouldn’t God let Abram and Sarai die in peace?
Shouldn’t God leave that to some younger Church and Church planter.
God’s Narrative is better!

COVENANT IS ABOUT RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.
IT’S NOT JUST A RELIGIOUS CONTRACT.
IF IT’S A CONTRACT, IT’S A CONTRACT FOR THE PURPOSE OF FAITHFULL RELATIONSHIP. IT AN MARRIAGE CONTRACT. WHAT IS MARRIAGE THE CHOICE TO CHOICE THIS RELATIONSHIP OVER ALL OTHER RELATIONSHIPS. OR ADOPTION. IT’S TAKING ON THIS RESPONSIBLITY OUT OF CHOICE. TO CHOOSE THIS CHILD.
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility
by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace,
and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility.
And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near.
For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.
So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,
built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,
in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.
In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.
THE BETTER NARRATIVE
God Comes to You in Jesus!
God Almighty: El Shaddai,
God of the Mountain, God of Enough.
The relationship with God, adoption into His Family is possible because of Jesus who brings, who is the sacrafice divided on our behalf.
God Transforms You for A NEW COVENANT.
A walk with God makes you different… Abram to Abraham.
A true encounter with God should disfigure you! Circumsision of the heart.
Make you differnt. Something should be cut away. Constantly.
What did God cut away in Abraham? THE OLD STORY!
The belief that short cuts work… Hagar and Ishmael (1 Chapter before Gen 17)
The belief that deception would work… Sarah is my sister…
The belief the belief that it was about his blessing… replaced it with a bigger story!
God Asks You To Faithfully Follow Him for the sake of the generations to come.
The Mission is Generational!
The best story of YOU. The High View of You is about the legacy you leave behind.
Abraham believed… we are talking about him 4000 years later…
HE WAS NOT ABLE TO PRODUCE. BUT GOD!
It is impact and the God story is what God does through our inability! To our greatness. God’s greatness.
How can we be a multi-generational Church when we are old?
Faithfully Follow God
Lay down what divides your heart mind and soul.
Invest in relationships with a younger generation.
Think about this: What is the difference between Isaac having a 100+ year old dad and a viral 20 or 30 something dad.
He Knows He’s A TRUE miracle
Think how much more Wisdom Abraham has.
Maturity Matters.
