Sermon Transcript Tone Analysis

Good morning, everyone.

Today's reading is from 1st Kings chapter 19, verses 11 through 18.

And the rain begins with God speaking to the Prophet Elijah, then he said, go out and stand on the mountain before the Lord, and behold the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake.

And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire and after the fire, a still Small Voice.

So it was when Elijah heard it that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave.

Suddenly, a voice came to him and said, what are you doing here, Elijah?

And he said, I have been very zealous for the Lord, God of hosts because the children of Israel have forsaken, your Covenant torn down your altars and killed your prophets with the sword.

I alone am left and they seek to take my life.

Then the Lord said to him, go return on your way to the Wilderness of Damascus.

And when you arrive annoyed Hazel as king over Syria, Also, you shall anoint G who the son of nimshi as king over Israel and Alicia the son of shape at of Abel.

Mahalo you shall anoint as profit in your place.

It shall be that whoever escapes the sort of Hazel G, who will kill, and whoever escapes the sort of G who Alicia will kill.

Yet, I have reserved 7,000 and Israel.

Good morning.

I fully intended to do a character sermon today portraying Elijah and the story that you heard from the video, and the story that was read here.

This is the appointed lesson for the Old Testament lesson, 2.2 for today, the 1st Kings 19.

I hadn't shaved for a couple of days.

I meant to come in here with my hair, all crazy and wearing my robe and all of that.

And I was just close to finishing my sermon last night when I got the news that Pastor Paul had died.

And that really hit me.

Where would Christ Community be without Pastor Paul Nash?

I mean from what I hear from that very first Sunday you started to meet at the Red Cross which was intended.

Only be a Bible study that day is what I heard.

Somehow through God.

Paul showed up and turned it into a worship service.

Brought Pastor Mark Benz with him.

Up from Washington, DC.

Andymark angle told me something.

I haven't heard this morning Mark said, Mark Pastor Mark bands at that first service committed to being with you for 6 months.

He's still an elder in our church.

You know, I wanted to do this for trail and I just know I told Paula last night at 2 that I just can't.

So I'm going to read my message and I'm going to read it.

As I wrote it.

I wrote it as if I was Elijah, I wrote it so that I always send my sermons to Marty.

You know, she can't watch online.

She is deaf.

So I character sermon like this.

I usually don't write out if Marty and Cindy were here over here because that's where they set.

I wouldn't have written it out.

But I write it out because smart, he's not here.

So you kind of have to listen to this as though.

I I'm portraying Elijah, okay.

My Ministry began when God called me to go to King.

Ahab, the king of the Northern Kingdom of Israel.

And tell him that there's going to be a drought that's going to last year's.

Until I went to Ahab.

Like you would walk up to President Joe Biden and say I have a message for you.

President, mr.

President.

and he told they have this and they have just blew me off.

Then I God sent me Eastward Into the Wilderness.

Where is fed by Ravens?

They brought me bread every morning.

They brought me bread and meat and there was just a trickle but as the drought continued.

You know what happened?

It stopped it dried up.

That's a God sent me.

Westward.

Northwestward to the city of Zarephath.

It's far north along the Mediterranean Sea in a country, you now.

Call Lebanon.

God said he had commanded a widow there to feed me.

And so I travel to Zarephath and I get there.

Not sure who this woman is that God told me he's going to feed me, but I see this lady come out and I said, hey, can you bring me just a little bit of water?

She said, sure and she turns to go back to get some water.

You know, Waters scares.

I said, by the way.

When you return, bring me a morsel of bread.

So I can eat.

She put her hands on her hip.

She said, you don't understand.

What the only flour and oil we have left is enough for my son and I and the endings.

I came to get these sticks so so I can have a little fire to cook this bread.

We're going to eat it.

And then we're going to die.

so, I said, The god of Israel says.

That flower won't run out that oil will not stop.

Go fix this, and bring it to me.

And she went and fixed it.

And then I moved in with her the three of us this Widow and her son, and me.

And we ate Read everyday.

She reached down into that.

I nearly empty Flower Bin, everyday.

She took out just enough.

Defeatist.
