Notes on Style: Expository – First Person (dramatic monologue) Introduction to the Epistle of Paul to the Philippians.
Point: There is nothing glamorous about prison, there was nothing glamorous about being an apostle in Paul’s day, nothing appealing about being beaten and hated and scourged (Acts 16) and yet Paul’s perspective was one of joy and gratitude and that turned these formidable situations into supernatural delights…you may be thinking there is not much that is glamorous about a small church with our history, etc. but “forgetting what is behind,” what is God going to do with a small group of people who are faithfully committed to His kingdom and His plan?
