Dying For You
Jesus died …
…so we could live
We were condemned to death because of sin
For the wages of sin is death, …(Romans 6:23)
God took the first step
He sent his one and only Son into the world … (1 John 4:9)
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God (2 Cor 5:21)
… but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.(Romans 6:23)
New life for us because Jesus died
… that we might live through him (1 John 4:9)
God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them (2 Cor 5:19)
…to atone for our sins
Takes our punishment
God … loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins (1 John 4:10)
We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all (Isaiah 53:6)
We receive it by faith
If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God (1 John 4:15)
… to be Saviour of the world
In Jesus every nation can find forgiveness and new life
… the Father has sent his Son to be the Saviour of the world (1 John 4:14)
There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1)
… that we might be transformed
God's Spirit transforms us
We know that we live in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit (1 John 4:13)
Love is the result of true life
Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him (1 John 4:16)
Love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him (1 John 4:17)
Where love is lacking, God is absent
Anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen (1 John 4:20)
God lives in those who love one another
If we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us (1 John 4:12)
