Theme: The Servant at Seaside
Key verse: v.11
41 verses; 923 words
Grade level: 5.1
1. Preaching the Parables. vs.1-34
2. Stilling the Storm. vs.35-41
In this parable we learn the SPECIFICATIONS of the seed.

I. The Definition of the Seed. V.26

26 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
The kingdom‘s legitimacy
Romans 14:17 AV
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
The kingdom‘s location.
Luke 17:20–21 (AV)
20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

II. The Description of the Seed. V.27

27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.
It is the Word.
Luke 8:11 AV
Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
It is working.
Now when it comes to leading a soul to Christ, that’s a supernatural thing.
You may plant the seed,
you may water the seed,
but it is God who gives the increase, NOT YOU
1 Corinthians 3:6 AV
I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
When it comes to causing the word of God to sprout in the heart of a sinner and grow and produce fruit, the whole thing is of God; you are NOTHING
1 Corinthians 3:7 AV
So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

III. The Depiction of the Seed. V.28

28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
It is the agent of faith.
Romans 10:17 AV
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
It is the agent of growth.
1 Peter 2:2 AV
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

IV. The Destination of the Seed. V.29

29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.
It’s headed to holiness.
It’s headed to Heaven
Conclusion:
Are you headed to Heaven?
