Provider, Healer, Righteousness, Sanctifies- when I think of these three names of Yahweh, it sparks His work of restoration in our lives.
Reversal of sin!

1. Yahweh Yireh

If you take the contextual aspect of Yahweh Yireh - you see it is a provision for salvation. His will to be accomplished in our lives.
Genesis 22:14 NLT
14 Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh (which means “the Lord will provide”). To this day, people still use that name as a proverb: “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”
Abraham was called to go out and worship the Lord and trust Him fully
Do we fully trust in the sacrifice the Lord has provided for us… the provision for our redemption made through the blood of Jesus?
The Lord supplied what was needed...
What else can we say the Lord supplied that day???
- a sacrifice
what is needed to accomplish His will
His word to Abraham
an act of grace
an act of salvation
a substitution
deliverance
God is Jehovah-jireh. This name means “the God who provides.” Just as He provided yesterday, He will also provide today and tomorrow. He grants deliverance from sin, the oil of joy for the ashes of sorrow, and eternal citizenship in His Kingdom for all those adopted into His household.
Abraham had to trust God’s plan to see redemption fulfilled… provision of the sacrifice, just like we have to trust God’s plan in sending Christ to be the Sacrifice
God was making a way, provision for His plan, just like Christ would be the provision, the sacrificial ram for our salvation...
We know in the NT
2 Corinthians 9:8–10 NLT
8 And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. 9 As the Scriptures say, “They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever.” 10 For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.
Discussion of provision for needs - not the name of God which is indicative of redemption, His will and His being honored in our lives...

2. Yahweh M’Kaddesh

The Lord who sanctifies (or makes Holy)
Leviticus 20:7–8 NLT
7 So set yourselves apart to be holy, for I am the Lord your God. 8 Keep all my decrees by putting them into practice, for I am the Lord who makes you holy.
1 Peter 1:16 NLT
16 For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”
The Lord who provides for our salvation also provides for our sanctification -
He wants us to grow closer to Him in holiness - being set apart for His purpose, cleansed of the sinfulness of this world...
If Yahweh identifies Himself as our sanctifier - what does that say to us?

3. Yahweh Tsidqeneuw

The Lord promises to raise up a descendant to become our righteousness because we cannot obtain this on our own… this prophetic revelation of who God is, appears in Christ...
Jeremiah 23:5–6 NLT
5 “For the time is coming,” says the Lord, “when I will raise up a righteous descendant from King David’s line. He will be a King who rules with wisdom. He will do what is just and right throughout the land. 6 And this will be his name: ‘The Lord Is Our Righteousness.’ In that day Judah will be saved, and Israel will live in safety.
Jeremiah 33:16 NLT
16 In that day Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will live in safety. And this will be its name: ‘The Lord Is Our Righteousness.’
Romans 4:22–25 NLT
22 And because of Abraham’s faith, God counted him as righteous. 23 And when God counted him as righteous, it wasn’t just for Abraham’s benefit. It was recorded 24 for our benefit, too, assuring us that God will also count us as righteous if we believe in him, the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God.
We are made right with Yahweh through His Son!!!
RIght standing through believing in Jesus - His PLAN!

4. Yahweh Ropheh

The Lord is our Healer ---
How has God provided healing in your life?
Testimonies...
Exodus 15:22–26 NLT
22 Then Moses led the people of Israel away from the Red Sea, and they moved out into the desert of Shur. They traveled in this desert for three days without finding any water. 23 When they came to the oasis of Marah, the water was too bitter to drink. So they called the place Marah (which means “bitter”). 24 Then the people complained and turned against Moses. “What are we going to drink?” they demanded. 25 So Moses cried out to the Lord for help, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. Moses threw it into the water, and this made the water good to drink. It was there at Marah that the Lord set before them the following decree as a standard to test their faithfulness to him. 26 He said, “If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his sight, obeying his commands and keeping all his decrees, then I will not make you suffer any of the diseases I sent on the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you.”
The Lord delivered the Israelites out of bondage in Egypt - a picture of us being led out of bondage of sin...
The water was bitter and the Lord sweetened it - promised to not send the same diseases upon Israel as he did on the Egyptians - the Lord our healer
Here it was part of restoration of deliverance from sin...
Obedience to God’s Word does bring safety from disease...
Numbers 21:4–9 NLT
4 Then the people of Israel set out from Mount Hor, taking the road to the Red Sea to go around the land of Edom. But the people grew impatient with the long journey, 5 and they began to speak against God and Moses. “Why have you brought us out of Egypt to die here in the wilderness?” they complained. “There is nothing to eat here and nothing to drink. And we hate this horrible manna!” 6 So the Lord sent poisonous snakes among the people, and many were bitten and died. 7 Then the people came to Moses and cried out, “We have sinned by speaking against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take away the snakes.” So Moses prayed for the people. 8 Then the Lord told him, “Make a replica of a poisonous snake and attach it to a pole. All who are bitten will live if they simply look at it!” 9 So Moses made a snake out of bronze and attached it to a pole. Then anyone who was bitten by a snake could look at the bronze snake and be healed!
Rejected God’s provision, plan, the Lord sent snakes to bite them, sent healing as well if they would look upon His provision....
That snake being lifted up is synonymous to
John 12:32 NLT
32 And when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to myself.”
That those who look upon Christ will find ultimate healing… physically, spiritually, emotionally
God revealed himself to Israel as their healer and protector of disease...

5. Yahweh Shalom

The Lord is peace
When has God been your peace
Judges 6:15–24 NLT
15 “But Lord,” Gideon replied, “how can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!” 16 The Lord said to him, “I will be with you. And you will destroy the Midianites as if you were fighting against one man.” 17 Gideon replied, “If you are truly going to help me, show me a sign to prove that it is really the Lord speaking to me. 18 Don’t go away until I come back and bring my offering to you.” He answered, “I will stay here until you return.” 19 Gideon hurried home. He cooked a young goat, and with a basket of flour he baked some bread without yeast. Then, carrying the meat in a basket and the broth in a pot, he brought them out and presented them to the angel, who was under the great tree. 20 The angel of God said to him, “Place the meat and the unleavened bread on this rock, and pour the broth over it.” And Gideon did as he was told. 21 Then the angel of the Lord touched the meat and bread with the tip of the staff in his hand, and fire flamed up from the rock and consumed all he had brought. And the angel of the Lord disappeared. 22 When Gideon realized that it was the angel of the Lord, he cried out, “Oh, Sovereign Lord, I’m doomed! I have seen the angel of the Lord face to face!” 23 “It is all right,” the Lord replied. “Do not be afraid. You will not die.” 24 And Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and named it Yahweh-Shalom (which means “the Lord is peace”). The altar remains in Ophrah in the land of the clan of Abiezer to this day.
What did Gideon mean when he declared the Lord is Peace ---
He was anticipating destruction, to die because he had seen the angel of the Lord, yet he was granted favor...
Much fear in life comes from the sense of impending doom — loss of life, limb, ability, possession...
We worry about what will happen to us… but the fear of destruction is removed when we encounter the mercies of God...

6. Yahweh Ra’ah

The Lord is my Shepherd
HOw has the Lord been your shepherd?
Psalm 23:1–6 NLT
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. 2 He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. 3 He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. 4 Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. 5 You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. 6 Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.
