My House
2 Corinthians 5 :1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 Corinthians 5 :1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
Brothers and sisters, and to the Bereaved family each of us have a destiny that comes to a final destination and when we do some separating has to happen. Mankind is made up of mind, body and spirit. And one day when it’s all over our spirit man goes back to God. and our earthly house is dissolved it’s just an empty shell, then what will your spirit man say to mankind on your departure.

Then I imagine Mrs Johnny Mae saying If I had but one day to live, One day to help, One day to give, One day to love , One day to bless, one day of better things to stress, I I had one day to sing, one day to smile; To brighten earth a little while, One day to sing my Master’s praise; A day to fill with work completed, One day to strive for a reward When I shall stand before my Lord. I think that I would spend each day,In just the very self same way that I did today. For from afar off The call may come to cross the bar. At any time , and I must be Prepared to meet eternity. And so if I had a day to live, Or just a day in which to give A pleasant smile a helping hand, A mind that tries to understand A fellow human being whose in need. Then I’d try to live each day He sends To serve my gracious Master’s end.

Because one day it’s going to be all over down here and Johnny Mae said when you hear of my home going don’t you worry about me. I’m just another soldier on my way home. Because One thing I know II sure been born again I made my preparations a long time ago.

When Paul penned this text, He knew that he was coming to his earthly end. And Mrs Johnny Mae knew she was coming to an earthly end. because when you’re a child of God the spirit of the Living God tells us it’s time to pack up and to get ready to go, it’s time to pull up my pegs and roll up my tent and as Paul would say

2 Timothy 4: 6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
And so as I close I’m reminded of the story of the little tea cup. The little tea cup was beautiful and pretty and well put together just like Mrs Johnny Mae, and One day a man came in this antique shop and said to the owner I’d like to buy that little tea cup its so beautiful. Then a world of personification happened the little tea cup began to talk. She said Sir I have not always looked this good, no no no. I was mud and red like clay. And my Master because to shape and mold me into what He was trying to make. He put me on a wheel and spinned me around and around where we go nobody knows. And I became dizzy and faint. He took me off the wheel and because to put paint all over me. It didn’t smell good and I hated how it looked.
Then my Master put me in His oven and I began to cook cook cook the tea cup said Mister the heat was so hot I nearly passed out, and then I hollered Hey!! Let me out of here and my Master said No! not yet. But after while he took me out put me on a shelf and let me cool down. I could see in the mirror that I was as fine as can be. And Mister, I thought it was all over then my Master began to put some shellac on me to help me shine. I thought that was the finishing touch but then my Master took me and put me in a hotter over and the heat was so intense until I said Let me out of here!!!3x I can’t take this no more. My Master said not not yet if you can take it you can make it, hold on a little while longer. The little tea cup said I thought I was going to die but finally he took me out of the over and I was so hot until my eyes were glazed over and all i could see was a blurry figure and as I began to cool down my Master put a mirror in front of me and I saw how beautiful I was and I heard Him saying Little Tea cup This is what I was trying to make you into all the while. And so the moral of the story is that we all are on God’s spinning wheel being shaped and molded into earthen vessels that one day will and translate, transform, and transition to our heavenly home.
Mrs Johnny Mae has just transitioned to her new heavenly home because 2 Corinthians 5 :1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. And One day when it’s His to call and ours to answer I want to hear the Lord say Servant Well Done.
